The high-performance X5 4.6is is discontinued. The 3.0i and 4.4i receive an exterior update, as well as a new all-wheel-drive system called xDrive. A six-speed manual transmission is now standard on the 3.0i, and a six-speed automatic is standard on the 4.4i. The 4.4i also receives a new 4.4-liter engine with Valvetronic and a fully variable intake system. Both models can add Sirius Satellite Radio and Bluetooth hands-free cell phone capability as dealer-installed accessories.

• Rides and drives like a BMW sedan, multiple drivetrain choices, top safety scores, high-end cabin furnishings.

• Less interior volume than a 5 Series wagon, price goes up quickly with options, poor fuel economy in the city.

  VEHICLE IS FUN AND FAST. ON THE DOWNSIDE VEHICLE IS NOT GOOD IN SNOW. THIS COULD BE DUE TO THE SPORT PACKAGE WHICH CONTRADICTS THE AWD PURPOSE.....PUTTING THAT ASIDE AND ADDING ABOUT $4500.00 FOR GOOD WINTER TIRES AND WHEELS, THIS VEHICLE IS AWESOME.

  VERY IMPRESSIVE. I TEST DROVE THE FX45 AND THE LEXUS GX470. ALL GREAT SUVS,BUT THE BMW IS ASTEP UP FROM THE OTHERS.

  If you are in the market for an SUV, you owe it to yourself to test drive an X5. The Comfort, luxury, safety and performance of this car is like no other vehicle in its class. Take a steep curve at 45 mph, and you will see what I mean the Xdrive (the 4 little angels in the comercial), really works!. This is the best car that I have ever own. Its worth every hard earned dollar(or pound, or peso or yen)!.

  I rather pay the price for the quality and service that I recieve from BMW. The car is simple, amazing. My property value has gone up since a BMW is placed in the driveway. It looks good, feel, good and performce darm good. this is my fifth vehicle in ten years, I can only purchase another one.

  Great car with 6 speed manual - 2004 BMW X5

  This car handles amazingly with the manual transmission and the sport package. After breaking in the 3.0, it responds VERY nicely to the throttle. Stab it and you really take off. Build quality and feature list are examplary BMW. The X drive also performs very well and is pretty transparent.

  Bought another X5 - 2004 BMW X5

  Already own a 2001 X5 and it has been a great car. Doesnt do well with original all season tires in ice and snow, but once you put good snow/ice tires on it, its a tank, and a confortable one at that. Like it so much I just bought another one for the Mrs. We replaced an X type Jag because of its poor performance in bad winter weather

  I have never driven a finer SUV, including my Range Rovers, Mercedes G500, and my fathers Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
