This Year's Model Updates:

An optional sequential manual gearbox makes its way into the 2002 BMW M3, which allows the driver to shift with almost instantaneous precision without a clutch. A CD player becomes standard, the automatic climate control has been revised and rear-seat side airbags are optional for both the coupe and convertible.

Pros:
  • Astonishing performance, prodigious thrust, truly a bargain compared to its competition.
Cons:
  • Difficult ingress/egress, ride can be rough around town.

Very well-built and reliable car. Loads of fun to drive. Suspension is tight yet forgiving. Highly recommend SMG and Harmon Kardon.

Pure performance machine, if you are not looking for performance this car is not for you get the regular 3 series.

  • My M3 is Awesome! - 2002 BMW M3

This car is extremely quick, fast, smooth, and luxurious. I love the SMG2 paddle shifters. Driving this car is like being on vacation. I love driving it every day to work (except when its snowing) and on long trips on the highway. I can cruise smoothly, or I can zip past and around anyone whenever the need arises. AWESOME!

Scare your wife. Scare your friends. Scare the guy next to you at the light in his C06. This car is frightfully fun to drive! My mother may never come to visit us again.

This is one of the nicest cars i have ever driven, In 2001 i bought an 1999 M3 coupe and i was very moved by the performance, styling and elegance, then in 2003 i traded in my X5 4.4 and got a brand new M3 convertible and i must say anything that BMW missed on the 1999 they fixed on this one, it has incredible throttle response and even better handling i must say great job on the new M3 BMW!!

  • Great overall balance for a sports coupe - 2002 BMW M3

This car is easily one of the best car out there if you want some luxury, 4-seater and a hell of a performance car. The Porsche 996 may even be a bit faster around the corners but it doesnt seat 4. The interior of the M3 is nicer than the 996. The exterior is much much nicer looking than the 996 with the possible exception of a GT3. I had the car for almost 2 years and I have yet to have even one minor defect that required me to go back to the service center.

  • Nothing Better - 2002 BMW M3

This car is what BMW is all about. If you like to drive you will love it. Perfect power band, race car brakes, rock solid suspension. The only negitive thing I have to say is that the car isnt cheap. But remember, it is the ultimate driving machine.

THIS HAS BEEN A PLEASURE TO EXPERIENCE. IT HAS ALL THE POWER ONE CAN HANDLE ON U.S. ROADS AND THEN SOME.

  • The best four seater convertible - 2002 BMW M3

It is great fun to drive, and surprisingly comfortable. The rear seats are usable by adults (rare for this type of car), and the car has more features than you could imagine.

  • So this is what heaven feels like... - 2002 BMW M3

Ever since I made the mistake of giving up my 1997 M3 for a 2001 330i, Ive been itching to get behind the wheel of the E46 M3. Its been well worth the wait. With the 330 goin back at the end of its lease, I decided to indulge in a new M3, this time the convertible. What can I say? Every time I take a corner or shift a gear, I cant help but break out in a big [well, you know what]-eating grin. Life could not be any better than this. Comparing it to the old M3 does the E46 no justice. The new M3 is a beast, a snarling, roaring animal of a car that will frighten old women and small children on the sidewalk as it prowls past.
