This Year's Model Updates:

With the 2006 BMW 7 Series, the company has toned down the car's styling and shifted the emphasis back to performance. After a five-year absence, the 750 badge is back for 2006, but this time it carries a big V8, not a V12. A 4.8-liter V8 replaces last year's 4.4-liter and provides a generous increase in power. The 745 model is history. Walnut wood trim replaces last year's cherry; Bluetooth is now standard; all interior knobs have chrome trim and the CD changer is now MP3-compatible.

Pros:
  • Superb driving dynamics, world-class drivetrains, highly advanced safety systems, dizzying array of features, sumptuous furnishings.
Cons:
  • High-tech toys distract from the task at hand, confusing secondary controls, odd styling details.

  • Better than the 745Li - 2006 BMW 7-Series

Essentially a 745Li with a bigger engine, well after all it is just a refreshening. After trading the 745Li for the 750Li, the major difference is power. Its great handling, but some what indifferent to bonding with the driver. It kinda just does its thing, not much feeling... Anyways, compare to 2005 S500 definately better performance although only 6 speed as oppose to S500s 7 speed its still smooth. S500 has a much more comfortable suspension. It comes with 4 year warranty and the best part free maintenance. The BMW free maintenance covers a lot and will save you a lot too because it covers new brakes, oil changes, minor and major tune ups.

Our New 750 died after 500 miles. Multiple warning lights came on Car has been in shop for 3 days and no answer yet to solution or when it will be returned. This is our 12th BMW and 4th 7 series They are great cars until they fail. I have had S classes and the Beamer is both more responsive and has a better road feel. I just wish the reliability was better.

Have had more service visits for this car in the first six months of ownership than I have with my Olds Silhouette minivan in the 5-1/2 years Ive owned it. Frankly I expected better from a expensive luxury car. Granted it has a ton more bells and whistles and rides, handles, and performs better (except in snow) but its dash is noisy and its only got 4100 miles.

  • Too Much Technology - 2006 BMW 7-Series

This is my 2nd review of the car after having it 5 months now, its been in the shop to completely replace the ingnition system, because the car stalled in the middle of me driving twice. Very dangerous. I love the car, way too much technology, something is bound to go wrong sooner or later with everything in the car being electronic or computerized. BMW needs to get back to basics and just make a nice car without all the tech. Read my last review, and most of it still holds true.

  • Luxury Sedan means Sport. - 2006 BMW 7-Series

Just less than 700 miles but I like this car, both a luxury & sport vehicle. Its worth your money. But, iDrive BMW still have a lot of functions you never need. Dealer must warn customer for Auto Park feature before leaving dealer lot.

  • 2006 - 760i - 2006 BMW 7-Series

The car is a most responsive machine. It is comfortable yet able to handle the road very well at any speed. Cornering feels as if the tires have glue on them. In all a fun car to drive.

  • The BMW 760Li - 2006 BMW 7-Series

This car is excels in all areas except for the iDrive system. The system does not need to be integrated with the shift. It should only aid the transmission when a specific performance is selected, i.e- the sport shift selection. When scolling through endless options it may take a while to find the gear you wish to select. I only hope they do not integrate iDrive into the BMW 3- Series. The exterior design is truly timeless. The seats are very supple and the integrated heating and cooling system is a must for dark interior and cold climate areas. Customizable options to meet needs and wants of the consumer. This car is truly a solid made German vehicle. BMW has set the standard high.
