This Year's Model Updates:

With the 2006 BMW 7 Series, the company has toned down the car's styling and shifted the emphasis back to performance. After a five-year absence, the 750 badge is back for 2006, but this time it carries a big V8, not a V12. A 4.8-liter V8 replaces last year's 4.4-liter and provides a generous increase in power. The 745 model is history. Walnut wood trim replaces last year's cherry; Bluetooth is now standard; all interior knobs have chrome trim and the CD changer is now MP3-compatible.

Pros:
  • Superb driving dynamics, world-class drivetrains, highly advanced safety systems, dizzying array of features, sumptuous furnishings.
Cons:
  • High-tech toys distract from the task at hand, confusing secondary controls, odd styling details.

  • Great car! - 2006 BMW 7-Series

I love my 750LI, Ive had to replace the battery and the splash guard but this car is ridiculous fast, The adaptive headlights are great and massaging seat makes long rides much easier. Sometimes the idrive wont let u select dvd in the back but after a min or so itll highlight to be selected... And the it takes way too long to change the radio station! but Its worth every dime! The ride, the aggressive growl as it climbs the hills, the soft close doors and cold weather package make me wana drive this car across the country for a gallon of milk. P.s. keep your eyes on that speedometer it loves to go fast!

Best car ever. Dollar for Dollar the best value in luxury sport sedans. Great power, smooth acceleration, creature comforts abound, great styling, solid reliability. My first BMW was an 84, 318i, then graduated to 5 (98 540i) series and have owned a 2001 740i, 2004 745i and now the 750i, by far my favorite!

I went to get a new 2010 750LI from my local dealer. After the sticker shock ($100k) he then took me for a drive in a 2007 750. I was shocked at how well it drove! Really, it drove just like a new one. I then shopped around. I found a local private party with an 06 750LI certified with the extended maint program. This means all warranty and service paid for 100% by BMW to 100k mi. or another nearly 3 years from my purch. date. Price paid, just over 30k. I couldnt be happier. The car is AMAZING, runs great and is reliable. It is such a pleasure to drive. Fast, roomy, handles. I have had several cars in the 70k plus range and this beats them all! Save a bunch - go used

  • Love It! - 2006 BMW 7-Series

After having owned Infinitis, Lincolns, and various other luxury brands, this is by far the best car I have ever driven. Even though this was the first time that I purchased a used vehicle, the car is in excellent condition. A former corporate unit, the car was barely used and came with every option except rear DVD. A big surprise has been how fuel efficient the car has been. This model is worth a serious look.

  • BEST BMW YET! - 2006 BMW 7-Series

I traded in my 1997 BMW 528i for a beautiful Alpine White 750Li. When I bought my 5 series back in 97 i wanted a 7 series but they where unavailable at the time, so i got the 5. Finally I have a 7 series and it was absolutely worth the wait. Best car I ever had. The Interior is flawless. I looked at the new model 2009 750Lis but I didnt like them, they seemed too sporty. That is why I ended up with The 06 (alot cheaper too!!!) The exterior is just stunning, I had so many complements on this car, i cant count them. The I-Drive feature is new but Im getting used to it. My Son figured it out in about 2 hours (hes 14), but Im getting at it slowly... I can use the Nav so i guess thats a start

This is the first BMW I have ever owned, but I saved the best for last apparently. Bought the car used for a small fortune, but Im loving every minute of driving it. I just retired from the Army, but I get looks from people like Im doing something illegal (lololol). This car is definitely a head turner, and a rocket in disguise. I havent had it long, so I dont know about all the problems others are talking about. Im just enjoying my car and life for now.

  • Really the ultimate driving machine - 2006 BMW 7-Series

I bought this car used. As soon as I test drove a BMW 7 series, I realized no other car could match the sensation. The criticism about the iDrive is not true. It is very intuitive and learning reflects the learners intelligence. Programmable Cruise control, massaging seats, luxurious spacious interior and very comfortable rear programmable seats are unparalleled for an under 100K car. Once you have learned the features and are familiar with the response of the car it is exhilarating to drive this machine. It is a head turner on the road this car will make you drive the scenic road - it handles the road so well and it is so much fun to drive this car.

  • Best car to drive - 2006 BMW 7-Series

This is my first BMW car after Lexus. I feel that I have fallen love with this car since I own it :-) It accelerates so fast to leave other car far behind after I leave traffic light. Bluetooth displays name and address book. Extra space for back seats really makes my family happy. It is not only very fast but also very smooth on high way. The body shape also looks more attractive comparing other luxury cars. It is more fun to drive comparing Japanese. The front and back sensors are quite useful to avoid collide to other vehicles in parking lot. But it does have some electric problems: cigarette charger stopped working, 6-CDs player stopped working but fixed by dealer with warranty

  • Reliable Car - Comments On Tires - 2006 BMW 7-Series

This is an update to a previous review. Have 35,000 miles on the car and it is extremely reliable. Just installed the Bridgestone Serenity tires, and these are the perfect tires for the car. They take the edge off of the sports package ride without compromising handling, while providing more quiet operation, longer tread life, and all season capability. These tires really give the car a better ride that is more fitting of a luxury car. Have also used Dunlop SP SportMaxx tires which handle well and are quiet, but ride stiffer, have shorter tread life and are not all season. Continentals that come with the car are just o.k.
