This Year's Model Updates:

Never considered hard-edged performance cars in their respective segments, the stylish 2003 Audi TT coupe and roadster finally offer an automatic transmission -- and a six-speed unit at that. Unfortunately, it's available only on the front-drive, 180-horsepower coupe and roadster. In other news, the quattro version of the 180-hp coupe is no longer offered and the remaining cars get a new front grille and revised exterior badging. Cast-alloy wheel designs have been updated, and, this year, you'll be able to get optional 17-inch all-season tires on all TTs (you could only get summer performance tires in this size previously); 18-inch all-season rubber is available on 225-hp models. Finally, the optional Bose sound system gets AudioPilot technology, which uses volume and tonal adjustments to compensate for outside noise.

Pros:
  • Distinctive styling, cutting-edge interiors, available all-wheel drive, superb optional Bose sound system.
Cons:

  • Great Fun - 2003 Audi TT

Great sytle, great handling, better than average power, more cargo space than a sports car, good sound system, I can drive it every day of the year, and its a head turner. Whats not to like? Well, the blind spots caused by the body style, but you get use to them.

While the ext/int design is incredible, the matls & fit and finish make a great 1st impression, it cant hide the VW Golf roots. The handling is all understeer. The all on/all off throttle make the tubo lag feel worse & the engine shakes at idle. The 6 speed autotrans is excellent & masks the turbo lag some. Shifts are crisp, smooth & timely, making the most of the engine. Rear 3/4 blind spots are huge. The view out feels like an igloo with low set windows. My head hits the roof getting in and out. This is rolling sculpture. Its not a sports car. As long as priorities fit, this is a great car. The wife loves it.

  • I Love my TT - 2003 Audi TT

I have had no problems, and have loved every mile I have driven the car. I had trouble believing that I did not need to take the car back to the dealer for 10,000 miles or one year and changed the oil after 2,500 miles and about 6 months. It is not awesome in speed, I had a 911 before and this car does not have the same torque, but it is quick and it is fun.

traveling 1400 miles seemed like nothing. the ride, enjoyment and ease of driving made the "road trip" melt to a simple around the block cruse. averaging 80+ mph and 35 mpg is not your average sport car trip, not to mention the comfort and ease of driving. Z who? I had one. This car has style, and is an original. Like the original Z it sets the trend and others follow. sure other sport cars have more power, but none have more syle, comfort and originality. Read all the magizines comparisons you want. I will take my TT anyday over the competion. Ill be driving while they pump gas.

My second TT (the first a 180HP coupe) has taken the fun up another notch. The 225 hp 1.8 liter coupled with the 6-speed is a huge improvement in capability. Both of my TTs were Quattro-equipped and I wouldnt have it any other way - the stability of the car on the road is never in question. The ESP makes cutting loose on gravel much more enjoyable since it keeps the nose pointed where you steer it. I recommend a switch to all- season tires from the factory performance treads if you live near snow. Otherwise, I wouldnt change a thing! Ive never enjoyed driving more...thats even including my younger days driving Triumph ragtops.

  • Very classy comfortable! - 2003 Audi TT

PROS: Fun to drive and look at. The trunk is much larger than it appears from the outside. The detail in the design of the interior is very "James Bond". CONS: Steering wheel jerks to left with acceleration. Windshield is in your line of sight unless you are a small person. Overall, this car is made for its exquisite appeal and not necessarily for a luxurious drive.

  • TIME FOR AUDI - 2003 Audi TT

Since I bought my TT back in February 2002 I have had nothing but pure fun. Every time We are in the car we get lots of attention. People here in Hawaii still point whenever we pass by. Although I think it should have more horsepower, everything else about this car is just great. I feel like Ive been driving this car all my life.

  • Buyer Beware - 2003 Audi TT

This is a warning to all those considering this car. It is a horrible car with an extremely poor build- quality. The car looks great, both on the inside and outside. It is comfortable and is a fairly nice ride. However, the reliability and workmanship are so poor that I would never recommend it to anyone of my friends. My car was in the shop at least 16 times in 18 months. If you are considering this car, I would highly recommend that you look at other options. This is a very, very poorly built car. This is not just my opinion. I have several friends who also own this car and fully agree.
