  • Wont be buying another one. - 2001 Audi S4

I bought this car used in 2004 for an independent dealer. This car is a lot of fun to drive and handles great. Gas mileage sucks, but its a twin tubo V6 with AWD so what do you expect. Past the fun to drive part I am really disappointed with the car. After 100K miles it has completely fallen apart. If Audi wants to claim to be a great reliable car they need to go back to the drawing board. Since October 09 to January 10 I have put over 3,500 in to the car. Now the O2 sensors (at least two of the four) have gone bad and that will cost me over $400 to get fixed. Its for sale and I will not be buying another one! Friends of mine are about to sell there A4 for the same reasons.

Purchased my S4 used with 30k and it ran like a champ right off the dealership lot! Love the QUATTRO engineering. This car is a bona fide pocket rocket. Handles corners extremely well, firm tight suspension and great acceleration. Only wish I had gotten a 6 speed instead of the automatic. The S line should stand for super. Audi has done it right again with the S4.

  • best suv killer ever - 2001 Audi S4

It does everything great. Fast, fun, comfortable. It even has a big trunk to swallow everything i can throw at it. I travel to Lake Tahoe every year and this thing is unstoppable on winter tires. Throw it sideways on ice and it is instantly recoverable. Drove to Vegas one winter and the entire highway was black ice. 350 cars got in accidents. I was the only car to make it through the highway. The Red Sea of SUVs parted as they spun into the ditch as i drove right through the middle of them on summer tires. Not a single car on the road the last 15 miles

I own an 4-Runner and a 00 Boxster, but I need another car (Since Boxsters lease is ending shortly, and my mother wants to use the 4-Runner, plus, I am getting marry soon.) I pick the S4 because: 1) Fast, with a Chipped ECU it can get you over 300 hp and 350 tq/ft 2) 4WD, no need to worry about weather 3) Rich in features: comes with Bose stereo system, heated and 8-way power seat, glass sun roof, all dim mirrors, roof bike rack, ESP, etc. 4) Space is about the same compare to BMW and a bit better then IS300 in terms of cabin and rear trunk space. Compares with 325i Wagon or IS300 Wagon, I think this is a better buy ($$ vs features, comfort and power).

tremendous acceleration when you hit it, can carry the groceries, bikes, kayaks, and get through snow with ease. and all around great performer than is fun to drive. Opt for the standard six spped which is smooth as silk.

  • Fun to drive but not fun to own - 2001 Audi S4

The car is fast and very fun to drive. The large trunk allows me to use it like a truck. Although, my experience with the car has been going down hill since I drove it off the lot. With less than 30k miles it is already making "creaking" noises in the cabin. The radio has already been replaced b/c of failure. I have the 6M tranny and the clutch has already failed (requiring the car to be in the shop for 2 weeks). Immediately after that it went back into the shop for a week for a failed thermostat. This is the last Audi I will purchase. I plan to sell it before the warranty expires.

  • Great car! - 2001 Audi S4

Ive been the proud owner for more than a year now. With an added performance chip and new air filter, Im up to 310HP (above the stock 250). An unbelievable increase in power - worth every penny. The car rides great, handles well, but in need of escaping the A4 look. 2003 should be a nice change.

  • Police makes driving less enjoyable - 2001 Audi S4

The car is all the more fun to drive at night. It owns the road with a force but yet provides an element of safety. The command of the car allow for speeding in a safe way. I see the enormous rush to purchase a SUV but I those things are a drag to drive and unsafe when it comes to quick responses. Gas mileage is poor and is the only buyers remorse I have.
