Overview & Reviews
Acura is an upscale automaker known for offering cars with impressive levels of luxury, features and performance. It's come a long way in a short time, however, as the history of Acura is relatively brief. Parent company Honda introduced the Acura brand to the U.S. market in 1986 in an effort to create a separate luxury division for its products. At first, it was just a two-car show: the Legend sedan, which was the first true Japanese luxury car sold in America, and the Integra sport coupe and sedan.
Though essentially a marketing creation for the North American market, the Acura brand was immediately successful. Consumers liked the features, performance and upscale image of Acura cars, along with the fact that Acuras were backed by Honda's reputation for reliability and low ownership costs. In 1991, Acura introduced its crown jewel: the all-aluminum NSX sports car, which offered performance close to that of other exotic cars while undercutting them in price.
As Acura's product line grew in the 1990s, however, the company struggled a bit. Some of its products were duds, and it risked alienating loyal customers when it replaced the Legend and Integra names with alphanumeric designations. The company jumped on the hot luxury SUV bandwagon in the mid-'90s with the SLX. Unfortunately, the SLX was just a rebadged version of an Isuzu SUV, and its quality did not match customers' expectations.
For the new millennium, Acura revamped its product range. An all-new SUV called the MDX debuted, sporting numerous family-friendly features, including a third-row seat. The Integra was replaced with the RSX sport coupe, and an all-new entry-level sport sedan called the TSX was introduced after that. A complete redesign of its most popular model, the midsize TL sedan, followed, as did a redesign of its flagship RL luxury sedan.
By mid-decade the NSX was gone, but Acura filled out its model lineup with the street-performance-oriented RDX compact crossover, the TSX wagon and the ZDX, a fastback-styled crossover that placed unique styling over practicality. Today Acura is still trying to find its ideal niche but there's no denying the quality of Acura's vehicles, nor their appealing mix of performance, technology and value.

Love my PWP TSX - 2005 Acura TSX
By TSX Owner - June 20 - 4:40 pmOnly bad thing I can say about the car is that it rides a bit rough. On the highway it floats but in town you feel every bump...that is the sports sedan in the car. Overall everything in this car is top quality and looks so nice. I get about 25MPG with premium fuel. Wish it did a little better there.

A pleasant surprise - 2006 Acura TSX
By Dee - June 20 - 4:13 pmI have had this wonderful ride for 8 days now and always look forward in driving the TSX. The leather seats are comfy, dash board and radio controls easy to use (especially for a non- computer lover like myself), fit & finish tasteful, and a decent trunk size. We are a family of 4 and this is a nice size for us. Not too small, not too large of a car. Weve had an Olds, Ford, Plymouth, Mitsubishi, Pontiac, and currently have a newer Chevy. This car beats them all no doubt - stylish, luxurious and sporty. Ive had people say they love my Arctic Blue color, which is a color thats different. Manual hard to find but am happy with the automatic. Not many TSXs around, makes me stand out!!

My first car! - 1992 Acura Integra
By Frank Par - June 20 - 2:00 amThis is the first car I ever owned and I couldnt be happier with it! Its easy to park, great accerlation, fuel economic, great car to learn to drive in. I liked the fact that you have a great view through the back as a result of having the hatchback, there are very few blind spots anywhere you look. It handles great and has not given me any problems. I bought this car used with 102000 miles and it runs better than my Dads 2000 Grand Prix that only has 18000 miles. The only thing I have done to the car since I got was was change the rear shocks, install new altezza lights in the rear (makes it look a lot newer), and upgraded the sound system.

Best SUV in class - 2004 Acura MDX
By Blades - June 19 - 2:00 amThis is the best SUV on the market, feature for feature, dollar for dollar! There are more expensive SUVs! SUVs with more snob appeal, but that dont feed the Bulldog! They cannot carry hardly anything internally or compare with the Hondas ULEV motor! I would not trade mine which I use as a commercial vehicle for any other SUV on the market!

MY ACURA TL-S - 2003 Acura TL
By chaka - June 19 - 2:00 amI FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE WHO SPRUNG AN EXTRA 8-9 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A BMW 3- SERIES. I HAD MY EYE ON A 330I MYSELF UNTIL I HAPPENED TO TEST-DRIVE THE TL- S. I KNEW I LIKED THE TLS STYLE BUT WAS SURE THERE WAS NO WAY THIS ACURA/HONDA COULD STAND UP AGAINST "THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE" ON THE ROAD. BOY WAS I WRONG! AS SOON AS I ENGAGED THE SEMI-MANUAL TRANSMISSION, DOWN- SHIFTED, LEANED INTO A CORNER, HIT THE APEX AND STOMPED ON THE 260HP 3.2L V- TECH I WAS SOLD! ON PAPER THE 3-SERIES OUTPERFORMED THE TL-S ONLY BY MARGINS OF LESS THAN A TENTH OF A SECOND ACROSS THE BOARD. AS FAR AS LUXURY GOES, AGAIN THE TL-S HAD EVERY AMMENITY BMW HAD.

Awesome, BUT missing a few critical options - 2007 Acura RDX
By CJ - June 18 - 8:26 amOk, if you have not driven an RDX, go do it now. This is an awesome machine. Yes you will feel a turbo lag from a dead stop, but you will be amazed how much power this little engine has, it really moves well. The SH-AWD is just incredible, I took curves at 65 mph and you can see on the display which wheel is getting power, it is simply amazing. I love all the tech gadgets, I am a gadget freak. BUT THERE ARE TWO THINGS THAT I WISH THEY CAN FIX.... one, NO MEMORY SEATS, whats up with that, this is a LUXURY brands, PLEASE give us memory drivers seat. NO AC VENTS for the poor people in the back. Come on!!! a chevy has that. Why cant Acura match the pwhite bumper to the white body.UGH
