Overview & Reviews
Acura is an upscale automaker known for offering cars with impressive levels of luxury, features and performance. It's come a long way in a short time, however, as the history of Acura is relatively brief. Parent company Honda introduced the Acura brand to the U.S. market in 1986 in an effort to create a separate luxury division for its products. At first, it was just a two-car show: the Legend sedan, which was the first true Japanese luxury car sold in America, and the Integra sport coupe and sedan.
Though essentially a marketing creation for the North American market, the Acura brand was immediately successful. Consumers liked the features, performance and upscale image of Acura cars, along with the fact that Acuras were backed by Honda's reputation for reliability and low ownership costs. In 1991, Acura introduced its crown jewel: the all-aluminum NSX sports car, which offered performance close to that of other exotic cars while undercutting them in price.
As Acura's product line grew in the 1990s, however, the company struggled a bit. Some of its products were duds, and it risked alienating loyal customers when it replaced the Legend and Integra names with alphanumeric designations. The company jumped on the hot luxury SUV bandwagon in the mid-'90s with the SLX. Unfortunately, the SLX was just a rebadged version of an Isuzu SUV, and its quality did not match customers' expectations.
For the new millennium, Acura revamped its product range. An all-new SUV called the MDX debuted, sporting numerous family-friendly features, including a third-row seat. The Integra was replaced with the RSX sport coupe, and an all-new entry-level sport sedan called the TSX was introduced after that. A complete redesign of its most popular model, the midsize TL sedan, followed, as did a redesign of its flagship RL luxury sedan.
By mid-decade the NSX was gone, but Acura filled out its model lineup with the street-performance-oriented RDX compact crossover, the TSX wagon and the ZDX, a fastback-styled crossover that placed unique styling over practicality. Today Acura is still trying to find its ideal niche but there's no denying the quality of Acura's vehicles, nor their appealing mix of performance, technology and value.

1994 tegg rs sedan - 1994 Acura Integra
By calum - August 11 - 10:38 pmThis is the first car Ive owned had it for just about a year brought it for 2800$ from original owner with 200000 km on the clock. Ive not a single problem with it, all parts are cheep and easy to find, if you want to do engine work Honda B series are incredibly easy to upgrade. Got enough power to push you back in your seat and still I get over 30 mpgs on low grade fuel. Paint matching is a little hard to do when rust comes in on the wheel wells all tegs have a metallic paint. Ive got just over 270k on it now so easy and comfy to drive. Ill drive it till I have enough money to buy another.

Solid a a Rock! - 2007 Acura TSX
By triniacura - August 6 - 4:48 pmJust rolled 100k in my 07 Tsx and I couldnt be happier! I picked the car up 3 years ago with 30k on it! I drive ALOT! And have put over 20k a year on the car including 2500mi round trips from Orlando to Toronto! Car has NEVER skipped a beat on me! Regular maintenance performed only! In the past 3 years I have spent around $500 in maintenance? Oil changes only and a brake job performed by Sears. The car is bone simple to work on! ( Honda core ) Dont even bother taking it to the dealer! Sears, Jiffy Lube, Mobile, Just about anyone can work on this car. The way it drives you wouldnt know it had 100k on the odometer . Shes itching for another 100k problem free!

Acura got it right this time - 2014 Acura RDX
By ride50 - July 29 - 5:17 amTest drove BMW X3, Lexus RX300 and Audi Q5 2.0. I can say the RDX was a winner hands down. Powerfull engine, luxurious interior, quiet, smooth and comfortable ride, excellent navigation. All that for at least 10k less than other 3 brands. I liked the Acuras straight forward pricing. FWD or AWD with technology package or without it. BMW, Lexus and Audi starts at the similar base, but by the time you ad few essential option packages, the price skyrockets to 50k. Audi tries to make you believe that theirs is the only luxury SUV, so you should not even think to pay below the sticker price. what a joke. The Acura RDX comes fully loaded, no confusing packages and pricing. Very pleased.

TL Special Edition. Great Upgrades for the money. - 2013 Acura TL
By mrminsky1 - July 25 - 5:07 pmMy 2010 G37 lease was about to be over so I decided to see what car I would get. As much I loved the car, I wanted something different since the car are just the same. The new Q50 would priced much higher because it is too new and it is not out yet. So I drove all the usual suspect. the BMW 328 is so overpriced for the $. Want Sirius radio? Great, you need the $2000 plus package. Want leather? Great, here is another $3000 package. Forget it. The A4? Too small. The Es350? too much $ for what it is. Volve S60? Not sure if it is reliable. Avalon? Maybe ,but dont like the dash. Honda Ex-l V6? Maybe, but for a few extra $, you get the better appointments, drive, details, dealer experience, etc

Balanced and competent vehicle! - 2014 Acura RDX
By patrick28212 - July 16 - 5:46 pmI purchased my 2014 Acura RDX about three weeks ago and I love it! I traded my 2006 BMW 530xi for this vehicle because the maintence costs were really adding up for me. I was looking for reliability and performance and this car has both! It accelerates well and provides great comfort. The size allows for passengers to be pampered without wasted space or bulk. Mileage is reasonable for this type of vehicle (20-22 in mostly city driving and 26 hwy at 75-80 mph). The car is a good value based on content and performance.

Acura Beats to a Different Drum! And I Like It! - 2014 Acura RLX
By thkim - July 7 - 5:01 pmAcura plays by no one elses rules as far as I can tell. Every competitors car that Acura claims the Acura RLX competes with is either rear wheel drive or all wheel drive. The RLX is front wheel drive with Rear Wheel Precision Steer. Initial marketing reasons would conclude its silly for Acura to say they compete with those other cars, but the truth is when you drive the RLX and feel how wonderfully precise it is and how nice the drive is you have to ask yourself why would I want all wheel drive with more things to break and horrible fuel economy. I have had my RLX now for 1000+ miles and I love it. The more I drive it the more I love it. I have owned Lexus LS430, ES300h, BMW...

Impressive - 2014 Acura MDX
By joeag8 - July 2 - 11:23 amJust purchased the 2014 MDX after driving the 2012 model for the past two years. While I loved my 2012, my only disappointment had to do with the fact that it was a bit long in the tooth. I longed for newer technology, so when the 2014 became available, I jumped on it. Wow, am I glad I did- the improvements to what was an already fantastic vehicle are significant.

Sporty and Comfortable - 2014 Acura MDX
By bluegoldbobcat - July 2 - 9:38 amHave put first 650 miles on 2014 MDX AWD Tech...coming from 2010 SRX...lots of fun to drive, seats very comfortable, but, front edge of driver seat wont tilt forward, so it may be tougher for short legs. Acceleration is smooth and steering feel is excellent...drove the RX too but, MDX sportier handling much more fun...very roomy 2nd seat with new push button slide ...cargo area gives me all I need. Having only 2 option packages from Base forces losing desirable options like heated rear seats, folding rear view mirrors, remote start, parking sensors, better insulation, better leather, etc without paying $8K more for Advance pkg and then you get 16.2 in DVD screen, 22.8 mpg on first tank.
