  • Fun To Drive - 2005 Acura TSX
    By -

After comparing many other near luxury wannabes, I found the TSX to represent exceptional value for my hard-earned money. I had owned a TLS and really loved it. WDP with Parchment interior. I dumped it for a lower monthly payment and for the glass fog lamps that continually needed replacement @ $300. The TSX is made in Japan. Looking at other imported product, it seems to have suffered a little in build quality when the point of manufacture is transferred to North America. I wish someone from the automobile industry could speak on this issue. We want to support our local workers.

  • a better car - 2005 Acura TSX

Ive had this car since Jan. 2004 and so far everything went fine until recently the tail lights were not working properly. It was due to the Harness Recall. The front right headlight seal broke or was not properly packed when assembled at the factory since water was filtering to the headlight. The front right axle boot had a cut so it had to be replaced. The TSX is not as fuel efficient as estimated. It will go only 330 miles with a full tank. The sound system needs some work. The car needs more power. After all if you are looking for an entry level luxury car this is is for you. Since the chances are you will not find anything like a TSX for less.

  • Good buy! but minor problems - 2005 Acura TSX
    By -

I bought this car after reading all the reviews and forums I can find. Everyone said its great, but no one ever saidanything about the TSX brakes. IMO, I think the brakes can be more responsive. I had a 97 civic before this car, and it seems TSXs brakes slower in stopping than my civic. Now, I have to plan ahead in stopping. Another problem is the speedometer. The 40 mph mark is placed at what another car would be at 20 mph. You got to be driving above 60 mph in order to see the needle above the 9oclock mark. That makes driving in city a pain, since the needle position causes me to feel I am going like 20 mph.

  • A Civic w/an Acura label - 2005 Acura TSX
    By -

I have had this car for almost one year. In conservative driving I have received as much as 32 mpg on highway but as low as 22 mpg city, so it depends. Acceleration is OK, although I find 1st gear to be just about useless. This car needs more torque. The "premium" sound system is anything but that. The right door has a rattle and one of the speakers has an annoying buzz. The dash makes creaking sounds as the car goes over rough spots on the road. I find this lack of quality not fit for a luxury vehicle label. 2nd gear occassionally grinds eventhough I have fully clutched. Acura is to Honda as Toyota is to Scion. This is NOT a luxury car equivalent to the Lexus or BMW.

  • All-around perfection - 2005 Acura TSX

Although I normally would balk at paying $27,000 for a four cylinder, this isnt so here. Its so smooth, actually more so than my old 1996 Acura 3.2 TLs 3.2-liter V-6. The interior is very clean. Many dismiss the exterior as boring, but I find it quite attractive. And its just dripping with features.

  • A more sporting TL? - 2005 Acura TSX
    By -

This car has been my biggest surprise of the year. I needed to replace my wifes 92 Legend, and I was dead set on the TL after having previously driven one. But after discovering that many of the TL features had been added to the TSX for 05, I became curious about it. I had my doubts that the 4 cylinder would be satifying, but after the first mile, I found that it far exceeded my expectations. What surprised me most was the nimble feeling of the chassis which made it much more fun to drive than the more powerful TL. Throw in better mileage, and a $6000 dollar savings, and the answer became perfectly clear - TSX!

  • Not so great - 2005 Acura TSX
    By -

Ok, the pros: Looks nice inside and out but quite conservative, very comfortable for front driver and passenger. pretty smooth engine for a 4Cyl. Awesome tranny. The cons: All 4 detention rods in the doors went bad, brakes had to be replaced 2 times in 8000 miles, was told next time I would have to pay. Creaks and rattles in the doors. Paint oxidizing and scratches easily. Bad on gas and no torque.

  • Best value for the price - 2005 Acura TSX
    By -

Having driven 1500 miles in less than a month since purchase, Ive enjoyed every minute of it. Buying experience was easy and without hassle. I particularly chose the TSX because of all the standard features at a fixed price. Driving experience is almost excellent, with a smooth engine combined with a buttery gearbox, but FWD dynamics and slightly harsh suspension. There could be some improvements (see below), but for the price, it cant be beat. Although it does not feel as solid as a VW, build quality if very high. Since its new, cannot fairly rate reliability. Fuel economy for the 4-cyl could be a bit higher. Overall, a solid sedan with important features at a low price.

  • Best in its class - 2005 Acura TSX
    By -

I am tired of reading all these reviews about how the tsx should have more horsepower and more features. Everyone always wants more. For the price, you cant find a better car in its class with as much standard features. If you want more horsepower, buy a TL. Stop complaining and enjoy your new tsx. This car is very lavish, and fun to drive. It gets pretty good gas mileage, and the standard sound system and XM are great. Overall very satisfied with the tsx. Would buy another one.
