Other than a new tire-pressure monitor and altered engine management (for reduced torque steer), the Acura TL is mechanically unchanged for 2006. As with all 2006 Acura cars, there is a longer powertrain warranty for the TL. It now provides six years/70,000 miles of protection. New SAE testing procedures have dropped the TL's horsepower rating from 270 to 258.

Dependable and fun to Drive - 2006 Acura TL
By macura - March 11 - 6:45 amI was originally looking for a second automobile with good fuel economy. I bought this car when it was 3 years old with 25,000 miles on it. This car has exceeded all my expectations. Its agile, and, while others complain of the "heavy" steering and road noise, I love the way this car feels. It is as planted at 60mph as it is switching lanes at 80mph. I can "feel" the road surface through the steering wheel not an objectionable feeling imho and the steering response is quick and precise. All this and I regularly get 30 mpg in a well appointed, sneaky fast and RELIABLE Honda product. I made the right decision!

Used 2006 TL - 2006 Acura TL
By Scott - January 12 - 3:56 pmBought used with 69000 miles. I was pretty happy with the price at $15,700 (Acura Lease car). This is my 3rd TL and each one Ive put over a 100k on. Very good reliable cars that perform very well. I would highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a performance geared sedan.

By paynesters - December 18 - 10:10 amBefore buying this car, I test drove the G35, CTS, ES, 330i, and Mercedes C. All of these vehicles are very much on their game, but the TL edged them out for me. 258 horses and 233 pounds feet torque, the only option is whether or not you want the TL with Nav, and what type transmission you desire. Price wise with all the same options, the competition could not compete. This car handles like a dream, and man is it quiet. I wish the information screen was placed in the Nav screen, and the now famous key fob was an option. I will tell you, if you are in the market for a Luxury Sedan without breaking the bank, the TL is more than worth a look!

Great Car! - 2006 Acura TL

The most reliable car I have ever owned, great performance and with the 6-speed I just love driving through the mountain roads and winding up the engine. Fuel mileage better than I expected and have seen 38 on the hwy thanks to a couple of performance upgrades.

A great car choice - a little squeaky - 2006 Acura TL
By John - November 10 - 9:47 amI bought my car in July and it has been so much fun to drive!! The looks, both inside and out, are top notch. I drove the comparable BMW, Lexus, and Infiniti and all had some kind of issue that I didnt like. The TL smoked all of those in my book (after 6 months of research)! I drive mostly on the highway and average 28 mpg so it also gets great mileage. Everything is great! Except... The only bad thing is that since Acura used so many different materials on the inside, during the cold months they squeak and rattle sometimes. It doesnt happen all the time but when it does it DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!! Still love the car and wouldnt have been this happy with anything else.

Best in Class - 2006 Acura TL
By Steven D. - October 23 - 1:43 pmI checked out all the competition and concluded that the Acura TL offered the best bang for the buck. It is much roomier then the Lexus IS 350 and less expensive for comparative equipment. I enjoy the NAV system and use the blue tooth constantly. Its nice to keep your hands on the wheel and still control all the main features of the car. I would recommend this car to anyone wanting luxury with a sporty feel.

Great Car...but not "perfect" - 2006 Acura TL
By Melissa - October 21 - 7:58 pmI have owned my Acura TL for 1 1/2 yrs. It has everything you can imagine as far as options, but it doesnt have auto lights or an aux jack. Another very annoying thing is that the car is very LOUD on the road- makes you feel like youre NOT in a luxury car. Other: leather is cheap. My center console has gotten so thin that it looks pushed down all the time. Just not what youd expect from a car that costs around $40k brand new. In some light, the instrument gauges have such a bad glare that I cant see them. The navigation is great, the build quality is decent, and the car gets a lot of looks on the road. Definitely looks great when cleaned up.

One year and still giddy! - 2006 Acura TL
By Scott - October 6 - 3:52 pmI have now had this car for exactly one year and can honestly say I am as excited to drive this car today as I was a year ago. Be advised that I am a very picky person but cannot think of any complaints about this car. It is a comfortable ride, very quiet. It is also very quick and loves to corner fast (as do I). Last, it has a very organized interior layout that is intuitive and exceeds my needs. I just went with my girlfriend as she test drove an 02 BMW 3330xi ($30K). I realize its a beemer, but truthfully, my TL is just as nice, just as sporty and cheaper. She even is wondering why she doesnt get a TL instead and save some $. Great car, no regrets.
