Nice look/poor performance - 2004 Acura TL
By Jonathan1 - November 5 - 10:00 amBought for my wife last winter. Very quick straight line but horrible front wheel drive handling. Torque steer very dangerous and at high speeds car gets very light. Most people are fooled that front wheel drive vehicles are superior but with sport tires on vehicle TL is useless in snow. Bought infiniti G35X for myself and for the same money there is no comparison. Wife now borrows my car every chance she gets. Also every 60,000 miles plan on spending $1,200 on a timing belt. My Infiniti is a timing chain and never needs to be replaced. Thank god we only did a 24 month lease.

Acura TL (4 Months Later) - 2004 Acura TL
By Kennys TL - November 5 - 10:00 am4 months and 8000 miles later, Im still in love and on my honeymoon. The TL has not disappointed me. I commute back and forth to Manhattan.....both city and highway driving are a pleasure. Wish gas mileage was a little bit better, but what do you expect for 270 HP. Outside temp gauge shows higher than actual temperature. Acura is only able to adjust reading plus or minus three degrees. Overall....I love the car.

Some costly repairs - 2004 Acura TL
By bassdocta - October 14 - 3:49 pmStill love driving this car even after a few years. Like others I am on my second set of tires (Continental conti pros, I think). I had a CPU failure from a stopped up drain that was VERY expensive but covered under warranty. I also had an AC compressor failure which cost me $1200 to fix. Not experiencing the rattles that so many others report, though. Only 60K miles. Lots of torque steer. Everything still works. Mileage is good.

Sound system is groundbreaking for cars. Definitely comparible to a 6cyl 5 Series (maybe slightly smaller?), but almost 20Gs less. Highest recommendations . . . although there is one thing i cannot figure out . . . no compass?

By RV Duss - October 10 - 2:00 amThe car is a definite advance over the previous TL, which I also owned and found to be a very good car. This car is much more powerful, handles better, and comes with just about everything. Economically, it actually seems to get better mileage on the open road. I took it on an extended trip and got 29mph.The navigation system is very good, though the voice commands need work. Acura should sell a lot of these vehicles as the pricing is very fair given the features and the styling is quite good. Overall a great value.

By sic5770 - October 10 - 2:00 amThis is the best SPORTS SEADN out there in the market,this car has 270 HP compare to its rivals BMW 530 has 225,and BMW 525 has 185 HP,but look at the price diffrence is almost $20,000.....the best thing about ACURA everything is included in the package,unlike its rivals where you have to pay for premium sound,heated seats,hallogen lights,leather seats.....with this price and performance this car is NO BRAINER.......

I FEEL AT HOME THE MOMENT THAT I GET IN.THE DASH AND BLUE BACKLIGHT INSTUMENTATION PANEL IS A "WOW" ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. THE SOUND SYSTEM AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM ARE SUPERB. THE NAV SCREEN IS 8 INCHES AND ITS EASY TO USE AFTER 1 HOUR OF PRACTICE. THE RIDE IS SMOOTH AND QUIET AT 80 MPH ON THE FREEWAY. HANDELING IS PINPOINT AND THE EXTRA BRIGHT XENON HEADLIGHTS MAKE NIGHT VISION EASY. PLEASANT SURPRISES WERE THE AMOUNT OF POWER THAT THE 270 HORSEPOWER ENGINE PRODUCES AND HOW EFFORTLESS THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS.
