Overview & Reviews
The TL has been completely redesigned for 2004. A 270-horsepower V6 is standard, and both a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission are available. The level of luxury inside the cabin is up, and driving dynamics are better than ever.
- Luxurious interior, long list of standard equipment, powerful V6 engine, slick-shifting six-speed manual, pleasant blend of ride comfort and fun.

Poor quality control - 2004 Acura TL
By fmahler2 - November 5 - 2:00 amWhen braking the car still down shifts hard. The poor quality control refers to the interior. We have owned many cars and this one had more rattles and noises coming from the headliner, and the center column, than all the cars we have ever owned. When taken in for service to try and fix the problem, we were always told they couldnt hear for find any problem. Needless to say we only kept the car for 5 months.

Very good, but needs some tweaks - 2004 Acura TL
By GC - October 18 - 1:16 amIve had my 2004 TL for a little over a year. Ive had a few of the rattles of which others have complained, but the rattles actually seem to have subsided in recent months. Nonetheless, the rattles have been my number one issue. The gas mileage has not been quite as good as advertised. Overall, Ive been satisfied with the car, but not so pleased that I wont look for a different make when replacing it in a few years.

Rattles but rolls - 2004 Acura TL
By ziggy3 - September 19 - 10:00 amDisappointed with the build quality of this car. Expect more from Acura/Honda product. Many interior rattles, headliner fell and body panels misaligned. Engine and ride are excellent. Would wait a year for Acura to get the bugs out. I thought I wouldnt have to worry about that with a Honda product, but I guess I was wrong.

Getting the most for your money - 2004 Acura TL
By Seat Clip - September 19 - 10:00 amThe only problem that Iev had with the car is several visits back to the Acura service department because the front seat clip that connects the seats plastic base to the leather seat. The Service dept. claims to have replaced it (seat clip) on every occasion, but breaks shortly after that. PS Good luck in finding an affordable cellphone with the blue tooth feature under $150.

First 3 months with 2004 Acura TL - 2004 Acura TL
By gzam - June 19 - 10:00 amLooking at the outside at first I didnt really like this car. It seemed too small to me. However, once I drove the car I thought it was great. The sound system, voice recognition, hands free link and navigation was impressive. The inside was set up well and showed quality.

just bought it - 2004 Acura TL
By hugomarvin - April 11 - 2:00 amSpent the summer assessing the Audi A4, Lexus ES300, Infiniti G35 and Volvo S60. Decided to wait for the Acura TL, to be sure I would end up with a car that excited me(sportiness), and gave me a luxury feel. After driving the Acura, the decision was made. Cars I looked are all great vehicles; A4 is easily the most fun to drive, the Lexus is the most luxurious and possibly best built, G35 covered ground in both my critical criteria, but had a few too many quirky things, S60 fell short both on the sport and the luxury sides. Time will tell whether this was the correct decision.

Lovin this ride! - 2004 Acura TL
By Sandy Eggo - April 6 - 2:00 amI deliberately made the TL the last of the 6 cars I tested out (G35, ES330, Passat, Accord, Camry), and I was sold after a half mile. Im a big guy, and I was worried about room - no problem. I found the seats very comfortable (havent checked out the rear seats, but unless the people back there are helping with the payments, Im not concerned!) Love the stereo, and never thought Id care for XM...its great for those with diverse musical tastes. So far, a great ride!

flawed - 2004 Acura TL
By flawed - January 11 - 2:00 amTL nifty in many ways but between 50 and 55 MPH the car vibrates, the dash shudders, things squek. Engine seems to "sag" at that speed compounding the condition. Acura needs to fix this quick. Give me back my BMW.

Good with the bad - 2004 Acura TL
By bezee - November 30 - 2:00 amLooks Great! Runs Great! Loads of fun to drive. Awesome sound system. Alas, with 1500 miles on it, rattles in the dash and from the glovebox. Not what you expect from Acura. Not what you expect from vehicles in this class.

Great car for the money!!! - 2004 Acura TL
By Vipolio - November 13 - 10:00 amVery slick exterior and nice touches on the inside with aluminum molding/trim. However, it did fall short of my expectations. I have some sound system rattlings in the back seat, and the durability of the interior seems less than reliable. Well see what the dealer will do about it! Hopefully the customer care will follow through.
