Overview & Reviews
The TL has been completely redesigned for 2004. A 270-horsepower V6 is standard, and both a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission are available. The level of luxury inside the cabin is up, and driving dynamics are better than ever.
- Luxurious interior, long list of standard equipment, powerful V6 engine, slick-shifting six-speed manual, pleasant blend of ride comfort and fun.

1st time acura buyer - 2004 Acura TL
By maddie2 - February 27 - 3:46 amAcuras reputation sold me on this car. However, I have been disappointed with several items but been pleased with other features. I think it is true that you should wait a year after a model change so they can revise all the defects. Ive had so many problems with the trunk seal leaking. If water is on the trunk lid and you open the seal does not prevent the water from entering into the trunk. Ive taken the car in 4 times for this problem and its still not repaired. The tires are awful on this car. I noticed the vibration within the first few weeks of ownership. I spoke to the dealer and they said they could not do anything about it. Its worse when the weather is cold.

Top Quality and Performance for the $$ - 2004 Acura TL
By twruprec - February 23 - 2:00 amI test drove the 04 Altima, Maxima, G- 35 , and the TL .. and fell in love with the latter. The G-35 is a spirited performer, but the interior feels a tad too snug, and the controls are a little balky compared to the Acura. The shift action is not as smooth, the clutch pedal is stiffer, and it has noticeably more vibration than the TL. The Acura is whisper quiet and butter smooth in everything it does. It has a level of quality and refinement I didnt find in the other three cars. The surround sound system is fabulous; all other factory systems Ive heard pale in comparison ... or should I say muffle in comparison. :o)

TL: great value but still a comprmise - 2004 Acura TL
By InJune - February 18 - 10:00 amBot TL instead of 330i. Saved money and got more features. TLs interior looks and feels quality vs the stark 330i interior. Camel leather matches great w/ black exterior. 6sp is butter- smooth. Severe flaw is torque steer, which in conjunction with vague clutch action, makes it mighty tough to launch smoothly. Net/net, great value package, but I already own MDX and Accord for utility and value and TL was the wrong choice for fun-driving in my time away from shuttling kids to soccer.

2004 TL Rocks - 2004 Acura TL
By Jocko - February 17 - 2:00 amI have now had the 2004 TL (Blue/Quartz) for a month and a half and have gotten many compliments on the styling. Having upgraded from a Honda Civic, this was quite a change. The interior materials look good and all the included options are incredible. I have to say that I was beginning to hat e to drive, but now in the TL I take the long way home. Buying experience was the best Ive ever had using the Dealer quote option here on Edmunds.

After six months - 2004 Acura TL
By S. Cunningham - February 11 - 10:00 amAfter six months of ownership I am very pleased with the overall performance of the TL. My only annoyance was with the awful noise coming from the rear...the aluminum chair rattle was making me crazy. The dealership had the car forrone week and had to send the car out to a bodyshop to weld some loose supports on the rear deck behind the seat...disappointed - yes, but the car was returned in perfect shape and the terrible noise is gone....wondering if this is a common problem?

TL Looks Like it Was Chiseled by a Laser - 2004 Acura TL
By subTL - February 11 - 10:00 amThis is one sleek car. Ive had a history of owning/driving high- performance or driver-oriented cars (87 Buick GN, 98 Audi A4 Sport pkg., 01 Prelude, and an 02 Camaro SS.) This car is the perfect blend of performance and luxury. Acura build quality speaks for itself. My family has owned a fleet of Honda/Acura products, and not one of them had any problems. A great car, and a great car company.
