This Year's Model Updates:

The TL has been completely redesigned for 2004. A 270-horsepower V6 is standard, and both a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission are available. The level of luxury inside the cabin is up, and driving dynamics are better than ever.

Pros:
  • Luxurious interior, long list of standard equipment, powerful V6 engine, slick-shifting six-speed manual, pleasant blend of ride comfort and fun.
Cons:

I just purchased a new Acura TL with the navigation and XM satellite radio system yesterday (October 2003). Try as I might, I couldnt get any discount at all. I paid full list price plus $100 for the mud flaps. I live in California, and tried several dealers, they were all asking full list price. I was going to wait to see if the prices would go down, but I decided to bite the bullet and get the green metallic one left on the lot. Its a very nice car. Overall, I am very happy with the car. Its a bit larger than I thought it was.

This is one of the nicest cars I have ever owned. I currently have a lexus GS 300 and like this car much better. I love the voice activation, and the bluetooth phone technology. The looks of the car get me more compliments than any other car I have owned. Great Improvement from the old TL which I traded in for the new one.

We love our new TL. We test drove the ES330,the Caddy CTS, the G35 and the TL was best by far - more comfortable, features, power all at a very good price. I used Edmunds to price shop and got it at $200 over cost! We have 4000 miles on it now. Average 22 miles per gallon.

  • Best car for the price by Tom - 2004 Acura TL

Test drive on several cars before purchase this 3.2 TL, compare to BMW 5 series, Lexus GS 300, Infinity G35. Acura seem to be the best for the price when compare the options, performance, technology. Put on 17000 miles in 3 months, great on Gas miles. I am be able to get 30 to 32 on HWY when travel along with empty trunk with AC set to 75 degree. There is a little noise when shift from first gear to second although this model I have is automatic. The stock tires only have 40% tread life left after 17000 miles. Very pleasure to travel on this car, it is fun to drive. Acura should have more available on the 6SP model, wait to long for 6SP model.

  • A Home Run! - 2004 Acura TL

Acura really did their homework with this one. My father has been driving cars for two years but finally decided on the 2004 TL. For a decent price, you get tons of features all wrapped up in a gorgeous sedan with gobs of power and refinement. Even if the new BMW 5- series were offered at the same price, my father said he would have purchased the Acura. Youd be making a huge mistake by not adding this car to your test-drive list. This model is tons better than the 2003 (better looks, more power, AWESOME sound system, higher quality interior)... Great work, Acura!

Excellent car, best value in class by far. Fun to drive, yet luxurious.

  • Nice Ride... - 2004 Acura TL

Was looking at 2005 c230 and after driving it, there was no comparison. The TL is an incredible value. Great performance and gorgeous interior.

  • Whoop! There it is! - 2004 Acura TL

A command performance vehicle. If anything to criticize, it is a front- wheel drive vehicle and has those limitations based on the engines ability. However, for the price there is absolutely nothing close with perfect reliability, comfort, power, sound system, and overall package. I am very satisfied with my choice and had an IS300 previously and was not satified as it felt like a kids car - small and not intended for long drives. Before that, had an A4, but the the car had continuous electrical problems and extremely costly. Acura has built a car that will keep buyers interested and happy for many many years.

  • What a Car! - 2004 Acura TL

I traded a big, newer Pontiac Bonneville SSEi for the new TL and couldnt be happier. The TL has a more sporting ride (harder) but is superior in every way. Fast, pure quality and super high technology for a lot less than BMW, MBZ, Audi, etc. I considered the Nissan Maxima, but the interior was too cheap and plasticky looking. Besides, the TL gets rave reviews from most car mags. I like sport driving but dont drive like a maniac like some car mags assume everyone does, so complaints about front wheel drive and torque steer is not an issue for me.
