A complete package - 2004 Acura TL
By wayne_saint - June 2 - 2:00 amThis is my 3rd Acura and its the best yet. It possesses outstanding power, comfort and very good performance with excellent fuel economy. Im also having to get used to people looking at/admiring my car -- so Im guessing that others must also think the design is as compelling as I do. While many have said, "if only this car were rear wheel drive...," having the front wheels driven is perfect for me and my snowy winter commutes. My thanks to Acura for an outstandingly well- balanced vehicle at a fair price.

Tire performance - 2004 Acura TL
By Warren k Hoen - May 18 - 11:16 amI purchased this car new in May 2004. Last summer I drove from my home in Florida to Tucson, AZ where I spent 1 month touring. I returned to FL in Sept. and noticed severe tire wear and road noise. I had the tires replaced at 17000 miles. After driving on the new tires for 5000 mikes I noticed more tire wear and tire noise. Also the car has a noisy engine. I traded the TL in for a new 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid with navigation on March 15, 2005. It comes with Michelin tires and is amuch quieter car all around. I much prefer it to the TL. The performance is great with the V6 engine and electric motor producing 250HP. I recommend this vehicle very highly over the Acura TL.

Nice design - horrible build quality - 2004 Acura TL
By hammer - May 9 - 11:34 amCar developed numerous rattles and noises which the dealer couldnt solve. Eventually after many attempts, sued Honda under the lemon law in California and won a small settlement after mediation - still waiting for payment from them after over 3 months!! So, after 3 Acuras and 1 Honda, goodbye American Honda!!

Terrific Car! - 2004 Acura TL
By PTJ - April 16 - 10:00 amI have only about 500 miles on the car, but Im thrilled with it. Looked at the G35, Audi A4, and a few others not worth mentioning. But I love that the car is fully loaded; the design is refined, its a blast to drive. Get the 6-speed manual! If its reliable, Ill never go back to Audis and VWs.

10 Month Review - 2004 Acura TL
By kells - April 10 - 10:00 amBought the car 3 days after its introduction. Reading reviews for 8 months now and agree with 95% of them. Its a good car and I am very pleased. Here are some things to watch out for: Paint peeling from bumper at the seem where it meets rear tail light. Dealer said that most peeling has been reported in the front of car, so keep an eye there too. From heavy rains, water leaking onto front-right dash speaker. Dont know if its from door seal or windshield seal. Careful grabbing for hood release, mistakenly ripped fuse box cover off and now have to tape it in place. Glove box door rattles.

By Ed - April 7 - 9:03 pmWhen I initially looked at this car, I fell in love with it. The exterior design was much nicer than Lexus 330. The price I got was about $1200.00 less than Lexus 330. I experienced few problems with this vehicle. The stainless steel side panels got easily scratched and dented. And also the leather seats did not hold well. overall, it is a nice car but not for $38,000.00 (incl. Navi)this car should be priced in low $30,000.00 range.

Bridgestone Tire Update - 2004 Acura TL
By Sundance - March 14 - 3:26 pmOur very good Acura dealer finally participated with us in removing the Bridgestone Turanzas and we replaced them with new Michelin Pilot MXM4s, which are the tires now used on 2005 NAV models. The improvement in ride and handling was nothing short of a miracle. All the harsh ride, shock transfer and pushing is now gone. It made a new car out of it.

TL automatic - 2004 Acura TL
By Park - March 4 - 10:00 amBest car ever in all respects except the ride and seats. The ride is a bit harsh and the front seats are not comfortable on a trip. Not enought padding on the bottom and the side bolsters are too close even for my weight and size (175 lbs/6 feet)

Great Car, Could Be Better!! - 2004 Acura TL
By Matthew Moen - January 9 - 10:00 amI bought my 2004 Anthracite TL A-SPEC with navigation system about three weeks ago. It handles very well and is a blast to drive! The interior is a quality seen more in higher end vehicles, excellent layout! Wish the MP3 player option available in the TSX came standard in the TL, after-all, this almost 2005 and lets get rid off the obsolete Tape Deck. I agree with Mr. Milliner though, I think as TL owners we should have more exterior options such as chrome door handle protectors that would really give the car a little more flash and the car should have indicator lights in the mirrors on the doors. I love the A-SPEC kit, the 18" Sparkle Silver High Performance Wheels! WoW!!!

One Year+ Update - 2004 Acura TL
By Brewster - January 2 - 10:54 amWe now have 21,000 miles on our TL. After solving the OEM Bridgestone tire problems by installing Michelins, all seems well. As long time Accord V6 owners, though, we have never become satisfied with the overly harsh ride. Our dealer is excellent but is aware of the ride problems for former Honda owners. While we love the car, especially the interior features, the ride really detracts from our overall pleasure. When Acura dropped the older TL and incorporated all the S model features into the new 2004 model, we lost our chance to have the smoother ride. All systems are functioning well and we have not had any excessive warranty items.
