This Year's Model Updates:

The TL has been completely redesigned for 2004. A 270-horsepower V6 is standard, and both a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission are available. The level of luxury inside the cabin is up, and driving dynamics are better than ever.

Pros:
  • Luxurious interior, long list of standard equipment, powerful V6 engine, slick-shifting six-speed manual, pleasant blend of ride comfort and fun.

  • My last Acura - 2004 Acura TL

This is my 5th and last Acura. Although they have a lot of nice comforts, I am becoming less and less enamored with the basic car design. The trunk is poorly hinged, has leaked, and the dealer cant find the leak. The back seat ripped when I put in a child seat and the dealer says it isnt a defect. The seat belt configuration in the back makes it very difficult for booster seats. The paint is peeling form the rear bumper.

  • FINE PERFORMANCE - 2004 Acura TL

A little over 27,000 miles without any problems at all except a battery that was covered pro-rated by the dealer. It is a smooth and powerful runner and looks very good on the road.

04 Acura TL is third TL owned and thus far, the best. Performance is smoother, quieter and more refined than 2002 TL- S, which was great car. It is hard to imagine a better car--performance, value and dependability--in this class.

  • Slightly too Expensive for what You Get - 2004 Acura TL

The car is very nice, but Acura jacked the price up and now I think I overpaid. The dealer made me think the product was like gold. They said that they were all sold out, for months... Then, lo and behold, one showed up and I bought it for full sticker. I got caught up in the moment and now I am somewhat disappointed. The car is very nice, but not worth 35K. You are much better off getting the 3-series BMW.

  • Nice! - 2004 Acura TL

My new TL did not disappoint. If you like power, there is plenty, although front wheel drive is not the best off the line. The stereo is great. The exterior is its best feature. The interior is confortable unless you play in the NBA. The blue tooth phone for now is gimicky, as my cel carrier doesnt even have a compatible phone for it. The blue tooth guys need to get all carriers on board for that to work. Rear view vision is an issue until you get used to it, and the "dipping mirror" is more inconvenient than convenient. You also cant make tight turns. But overall, this is an excellent car which I love.

  • I Looked at All the Rest - 2004 Acura TL

I did my research before I bought: BMW 330xi, Audi 4 3.0, Nissan Maxima, Cadillac CTS, and this was the most for the buck. Also more pickup, power, style and technology. As sure footed as a mountain goat! I could not be happier! My family fights as to take this car over the others we have. It reeks of luxury, and not a thing appears wrong with it.

  • Best Luxury in its class - 2004 Acura TL

This is the most fun ive had in driving a car in years. I would say this car beats my previous lexus sc400 by a huge margin. I was very happy with my Lexus until this Acura came around. I love the style and the drive is far superior

from day one I had problems.complained to the dealership and to Acura head office. They never even contacted me, which I found very impolite and not very professional. The least they could have listened to my complaints as to the very poor assembly of my tl!They still have a long way to go to catch up to infiniti.First time last time, get the message Acura!

  • 2 1/2 Years and Still Fun to Drive - 2004 Acura TL
    By -

Driven over 52,000 miles in the past 2 years. It is still fun to get behind the wheel of this car. For all the features you just cannot beat the value of this car. Love to get in crank up the music and turn on the nav system and hit the highway. Im 65" and feel very confortable in this car. Engine has all the power I need! Couple of small complaints: On my third set of tires, switched to Michlin Pilots. Brakes have never felt right. Seats are tad bit narrow. Wish the back seat would fold down. Over all, you just cannot beat the value of this car. Even my friend that runs a Dodge Dealership, thinks this is the best value of any car on the market today!

The car has plenty of luxury features but it will really run if you need it to. The handling is very solid but not all that exciting. Great reliability of course, solid performance and handling, an a great value at its price. The best car I ever owned.
