Disappointing..... - 2004 Acura TL
By freewaywilly - June 17 - 10:00 amI had high expectations of this car and have been disappointed. Performance is good, but not excellent. Build quality is not good. Interior rattles too numerous to ever fix. The car has less than 4000 miles on it and rattles like a 20 year-old Yugo! The dealer is no help. Sound system is excellent, but dont plan on enjoying anything with much bass as speakers and door panels vibrate and rattle with only moderate volume. I had moved from a Saab 9-5 to this car expecting higher quality and more luxury. Im working hard to find a way to get out of this and back to Saab or BMW. No comparison!

Love this car - 2004 Acura TL
By Luke - May 22 - 5:37 pmIve owned my 3.2 TL for nearly 3 years and cant think of a car Id rather have. This is the longest I kept a vehicle in 20 years. It drives great, handles well, is comfortable and has just the right amount of technology. Much better than the BMW 525 and Lexus ES 350 that Ive owned recently. Cant wait to see the next generation, hope its an improvement.

By DAVE WIERER - May 22 - 2:00 amCAR WAS BOUGHT IN FLORIDA, DROVE BACK TO WISCONSIN THROUGH ICE & SNOW,DIDNT PUSH TO THE LIMITS YET, ONLY HAVE HAD IT FOR 1 WEEK, 1700 MILES. PRVOUSLY HAD A 1999 3.2 TL. WIFE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT , WOUNDNT LET MY DRIVE IT MUCH, I PUT ON LOTS OF MILES ON MY CARS. OUR 24 YEAR OLD SON NOW LOVES IT. HE WANTS TO BUY THE 2004 TL WHEN SHE WANTS TO SELL. ACURA SHOULD MAKE A SAN MARINO RED TL, THE BRIGHTER THE BETTER, COPS LIKE IT.SO DOES MY WIFE.

A few issues make it irritating - 2004 Acura TL
By irritated_driver - May 11 - 10:00 amA few small issues irritate me. 1) Lights do not turn on when it is dark out. 2) The DVD Navigation screen goes into night mode when you turn on the lights, even if its during the day. The system should go into night mode *at night*. 3) This car will continuously beep at you if you do not have your seatbelt on. I usually were my seat belt, but if I take it off IT IS MY choice, not Acuras. This is especilly frustrated given issue #4 4) The car will not beep to warn that you are low on gas. I havent run out of gas yet, but Im sure if I did and unbuckled my seat belt..it would beep at me.

Rattle and Whine - 2004 Acura TL
By Motoracer - May 5 - 10:00 amThis could be a great car, but the poor quality of the interior construction has been a constant source of irritation for me. The chief problem has been squeeking and popping noises from both front-side window trim pieces. I think this is a design/build problem and not something the dealer can repair unless new components are developed. If it wasnt for this problem, I would be very happy with the car. The off- center steering feel isnt great but otherwise the car handles very well at any reasonable street pace. The torque steer isnt intrusive and Im happy giving up some RWD handing characteristics to have FWD for New England winter.

Well rounded value - 2004 Acura TL
By Dwight - April 23 - 2:58 pmBought used with 43,000 miles. Have put on 20,000 since then. Reliability has been perfect. Nearly every conceivable feature. Strong, quiet engine, good brakes, firm but not quite too harsh handling. Perfect balance of sports car and luxury car. Very little road noise at 80 mph. I get 30 MPG on highway at 80 mph and regular unleaded. All interior parts have a quality touch with exception of the seat leather. A few more interior noises than Id expect, but most have been fixable. $299 TomTom One GPS fits perfectly radio/climate screen without covering radio or drivers climate info. Why pay $2,000? I still like the G35, but the TL beats it in too many areas important to me.

dont believe the bad reviews - 2004 Acura TL
By care2 - April 22 - 3:43 amI have owned this car for 8 months now and love it. Being a previous BMW owner 3xs over, this car far exceeded my expectations. I travel a lot and have 9,000 miles on it now, no rattles what so ever. Interior is excellent, I keep the leather seats conditioned and mine look like new, no wear showing. Ride is smooth. Steering can take some getting use to from fast launches, but I live in the midwest, so Ill live with it since front wheel drive is a must to get around. Exterior is a definite eye catcher.

Solid but boring/ Needs rear wheel drive - 2004 Acura TL
By Trip - April 17 - 12:20 pmThis car has all the extras that get you excited about a car. The downside is that the vehicle while powered well does not give you a feel you would want from a sport sedan. The understeer is very noticeable and quite frustrating. If you are looking for a comparable car in the 35K range buy the G35. I made a mistake because I like to drive.
