This Year's Model Updates:

The TL has been completely redesigned for 2004. A 270-horsepower V6 is standard, and both a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission are available. The level of luxury inside the cabin is up, and driving dynamics are better than ever.

Pros:
  • Luxurious interior, long list of standard equipment, powerful V6 engine, slick-shifting six-speed manual, pleasant blend of ride comfort and fun.
Cons:

  • Awesome automobile - 2004 Acura TL

Just bought the new TL last week (7/20) and couldnt be happier with it. I was impressed with the 2 test drives I took over the last 2 months, but let me tell you....the test drives didnt really do this thing a lot of justice. Owning it and driving it every day is a dream come true for me. I traded up from the duldrums of the GMCs of the world and WOW what a difference, Well worth the $$$. Smooth strong performane, incredible interior and an awesome sound system. Its also very roomy inside for my wife and 2 boys. After all my research of cars priced in the low 30s I came to the conclusion that the new TL is very much the best in that price range. Try it!

I absolutely love my car. It has so much power along with so much beauty. I will update my car every 4 yrs. to an Acura. The colors available can not be better than what color I have. My car is like a pearl white. Beautiful.

  • What the BMW 5 series should have been! - 2004 Acura TL

I drove this car after having looked at it for a couple of months and was sold. The car is quiet and comfortable, yet rides and performs like the European cars we have owned. Having an MDX gave us confidence in the build quality and retained value, so it was an easy decision to become a two- Acura family. If the BMW 530 I drove was as good as this, it might be worth the extra $18,000.

Best ride I have owned so far. The car is rock solid. I have had the car for 6 months now. My 6 spd manual has excellent response and sings like a muscle car. I would buy another manual TL in a heartbeat. Pros: handling and performance. Ubiquitous Honda quality. Comes with almost every option needed. Bluetooth phone system never ceases to amaze passengers. Cons: has a bit of torque steer if you play hardball with the throttle. Seats are aerated leather and reasonably comfortable but not up to the feel of the “grab you and hold you“ laterally supported buckets found in the German entries. It doesnt hold its value like the Audi which makes a used 2004 TL an absolute steal.

  • Excellent car - 2004 Acura TL

For the money, this is the best deal going. Fun to drive, economical, and the quality thoughout is evident. Traded in my 2001 TL for 2004 and its a whole new car- different feel and the improvements are noticable. This car is easy to drive long distances and loves the curving, winding roads as well. All-in-all, a fine choice for the near-luxury sedan driver. I dont regret my choice one bit.

  • Great car overall - 2004 Acura TL

Ive had this car for a few weeks. It looks beautiful inside and out. The engine is smooth and the cabin is quiet. The materials used seem to be very high in quality...which kind of confuses me because there are so many creaking noises and rattling. This car would be perfect if not for the annoying little cracks and pops coming from different places. In my opinion, these are only minor fit and finish issues, although the noises distract me from enjoying the ride sometimes. As far as the amenities, I love the navigation system. It is extremely user-friendly, and the screen is huge! This is a great car overall.

  • All-Around Champ! - 2004 Acura TL

I am an admitted car nut so when it was time to buy, I did major research. I started out with a pretty big list of $35k and under candidates but quickly narrowed the group to the Acura TL, the Infiniti G35, the Nissan Maxima, the Audi A4 and BMW 325. While the Audi and Infiniti are very nice and the Maxima is a lot of car for the dough, the TL simply dominates in this class when you consider all-around goodness. There is no better combination of performance, safety, features and design in this price range. I would go so far as to call the TL the finest effort from Acura to date! The BMW doesnt even come close, which makes one realize how overpriced that brand has become.
