Cooling Problems - 1998 Acura SLX
By apgaines - December 23 - 5:33 pmJust bought this car and while driving it home from the dealer it overheated. I replaced the t-stat, and radiator due to dealer putting stop leak in motor to cover up bad head gasket or cracked head. It has been towed further than driven so far. I am taking it back to the dealer under the lemon law, and conditions not discovered during test drive. The engine is also an oil consumer I recently researched and found out on the web. Isuzu is not willing to repair this issue on models made prior to 2000, so drive with a few cases of motor oil when you go on road trips. I may be in for a long haul of repairs on this one.

Best Vehicle I have ever owned - 1998 Acura SLX
By Oilfieldtruckguy - June 20 - 2:00 amThis is the best SUV ever made. It has plenty of cargo room, power, can actually go off road, and yet swadles the passengers with luxury. It is also tough and durable --- six years later, people ask me if it is the "new" Acura SUV, as no one has ever seen one.

Wow! - 1998 Acura SLX
By HardDriver - April 14 - 2:00 amI have owned my 1998 SLX for six years now. All I have ever done is put oil and gas in it -- nothing has ever broken, squeaked, or given any trouble. It is great and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Great SUV - 1999 Acura SLX
By room to spare - July 11 - 2:00 amGreat vehicle, rugged, and comfortable. Great on long trips. Great in snow, and off road. Excellent fit and finish. I purchased this with 18k miles and now have 64k, with no problems. I like it better than the MDX. I drive my vehicles at least 150k and feel this one will make it with no problem. Still very tight, and wearing well.

Rugged Box - 1999 Acura SLX
By mac85260 - September 4 - 2:00 amThe SLX is a true off road vehicle with ample cargo space. Ive used it for hunting and for launching a boat from an unimproved ramp (beach). Visability is excellent. Weve used it for family vacations and it will cruise all day at 75+. In spite of its square shape is not adversely affected by cross winds.

By MissMrozik - August 20 - 2:00 amGreat car, very few mechanical problems. Vehicle is large and my husbands LX470 Lexus, but it gets 17.00 mpg, 4 more than the Lexus. Acura dealers treat certified used car purchasers very well.

By DEH - August 9 - 2:00 amFamily likes the visibility and cargo space this vehicle offers. Center console can be a challange due to controls being too accessable to accidental engagement. Otherwise we like it.
