Further honing its already quite capable MDX, Acura has made a number of key improvements for 2003. First up is a 20-horsepower boost, giving the MDX a total of 260. To support the increased power, there's a revised five-speed automatic transmission, a new stability control system, a strengthened chassis, a retuned suspension and stronger brakes. Inside, the optional navigation system has gained voice recognition capability, enhanced graphics and expanded database coverage. There's also a tailgate-mounted rearview camera this year that transmits its view to the display screen when the vehicle is put in reverse. Lastly, Acura will be offering an optional DVD-based entertainment system as a factory option.
- Room for seven passengers or serious amounts of cargo, gutsy V6 engine, well-balanced suspension, top-rated crash test scores, low price.
- Limited off-road capability, below-average tow rating, ho-hum interior design and materials, might have to pay over sticker to get one.

Great car, but dealership needs to imprv - 2003 Acura MDX
By jhc - January 2 - 10:00 amWhat a great car. This is my second Acura. My first Acura was TL and it was a good experience overall. Hoping the same experience, but for MDX the dealerships were too arrogant. I almost did not buy this car until I went to this dealership where I bought it from. Had to buy this car, because there is nothing else that could match the features/performance/quality at this price.

Great SUV - 2003 Acura MDX
By posted1 - November 25 - 2:32 amGreat vehicle. It does everything very, very well while doing almost nothing flashy. If this sounds like you, this is your SUV. Safety is top-notch. GPS is excellent safety / convenience feature. Rear entertainment option is beyond value if you have kids. Rear backup camera is now a requirement on any future vehicle after experiencing it in this MDX. This is a must. We test-drove all competitors multiple times and this car won, hands down, in almost every measurable regard. The Lexus RX was quite nice but did not offer the convenience and functionality of this vehicle. BMW was OK at best. Infiniti was "so-what?". Great vehicle with minor opportunities for improvement.

Compared to the BMW X5, Volvo XC90, Lexus RX330,Infiniti FX35/45, the MDX wins hands down! You cant buy a better equipped and safer vehicle for the $$ than the MDX. Also, as with any Honda product, you will never have to worry about reliability and resale values.
