Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

I actually dont mind making my payments - 2005 Acura MDX
By Tom - June 5 - 2:19 amIm not particularly a car person, but I have to say I really like this SUV. Its my first Acura and my 5th SUV. Its very quiet, spacious, comfortable, and the navigation is fantastic once you learn commands. (At first I didnt think the voice rec. worked well but it was mostly my lack of understanding it. Fine now.) Body style is least favorate but added wheel flares, side molding, and running boards that help make it less bulbous.

MDX- dependable and fun - 2001 Acura MDX
By Debbie - May 31 - 5:19 pmI was one of the earliest MDX buyers in our area. I love my MDX! It has been dependable, comfortable and low maintenance. I put a lot of mileage on yearly and have been thrilled with the vehicle! I am now first in line for the new RDX and am anxiously awaiting its arrival! I hope it is as good as my MDX (but with the kids grown up and out, I no longer need a 7 passenger car). I highly recommend the MDX!

Just Got Mine - 2004 Acura MDX
By chrisinoc - May 28 - 10:00 amI picked mine up after a 2 week wait. I was very impressed by all the features this SUV has. I did extensive research on all the SUVs and concluded this was the best one for the money. There may be others with a better look, faster, or plusher interior but none so well rounded.

Hope This Helps - 2002 Acura MDX
By mikelevels - May 23 - 9:52 amI did a lot of research before buying this car. I got the list down to MDX and Pilot, the Honda version of the same car, because I carry large speakers and needed a 49" wide car. There were no used Pilots at the time, so the MDX was it. Like everyone else, I had the transmission problem and eventually had it replaced under warrantee with no questions asked. Make sure you buy a certified car with an extended power train warrantee. Great highway cruiser. 4 hour trips are no problem. If it got stolen, Id get a Pilot to replace it.

2nd MDX - 2006 Acura MDX
By m2 - May 22 - 8:02 pmThis car fit our needs and the opportunity came up to trade in a 2003 MDX (touring with RES) for the 2006 MDX (Touring with Nav&RES). I took the opportunity to upgrade to Navigation & RES and am so happy I did. The car is fun to drive and meets our families need. Obviously I am happy with the MDX or I would not have been a return customer. The Navigation makes trips really stress free and although I dont have a bluetooth phone at the moment, I cant wait until I start using this feature.

Still Happy - 2002 Acura MDX
By Kenny a. - May 22 - 8:13 amI still love my MDX. the car has 95,000 miles on it and I am torn between replacing it with another or waiting to the new model comes out. I did have a few problems (transmission replaced at 35,000 miles & need a new motor mount at 90,000). But I still love the car. Acura has been wonderful auto company to deal with.

After lots of research...a happy driver - 2003 Acura MDX
By Hiker23 - May 19 - 2:00 amA great deal of time was spent in researching and comparing vehicles (thank you Edmunds!). During our "quest" we looked at the Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Nissan Pathfinder, Acura MDX, BMW X5 and Lexus GX470. All have great build quality but the value equation for the MDX was the best. It represented the perfect blend between family hauling, luxury, and "sportiness" for us. The 260 hp certainly gets it moving in a hurry (unsuspecting drivers are quickly dispatched to the rear-view mirror)but this is no Boxster S. Needless to say I expect to get atleast 10 years of faithful service from this great machine.

A Fine SUV, this MDX! - 2005 Acura MDX
By Gene - May 15 - 5:06 amWe have a 3 1/2 year, 84000 mile lease on a 2005 MDX, and more than half way through the first year, I am not disappointed. I love how accuras navigation gets me there, even though I do not understand why the "now time traffic conditions" unit found in the RL Sedan is not even an option. But lets not be picky. This SUV is a dream to drive ON the road--I would not go to the beach or offroad with it. If you do not need the biggest SUV on the planet, this will satisfy.
