Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Love my MDX - 2003 Acura MDX
By AnnW. - March 3 - 10:00 amI love the smooth and comfort ride in the MDX. I had to test the Break once, and I was pleased with its performance. There is much more room in the 2nd row than our other SUV. And the 3rd is very easy to use and getting into.

Disguised minivan - 2003 Acura MDX
By bmwguy - March 2 - 1:03 pmBought a 1 year old used MDX with 14000k, drove about another 45k over 2.5 years. Roomy, mostly reliable, but NOT sporty. Closest to a minivan in ride and handling. Neither tough enough for offroad nor secure enough for sporty driving. Replaced starter under warranty, but scheduled dealer service pricey with frequent transfer case oil changes. Did I mention my dealer maintained creampuff did not hold value for a trade at an Acura dealer? Dont let Acura tell you this a a luxury car, just because it has leather seats. Mediocre stereo.

Satisfied - 2008 Acura MDX
By RV - March 1 - 2:50 amHello, Have had this car for three weeks, bought the tech/entertainment package (blk/blk). Car is beautiful inside and out. Navigation is easy to use, if youve had navigation before. HandsFree Link with our blue tooth phones is awesome. Car accelerates and handles excellently. We own an integra before this so we knew it was going to be a quality vehicle and are not disappointed. 10 speaker stereo is amazing. Kids can listen/watch DVDs in back while we listen to radio in front. Cant complaining about gas mileage, car is full sized SUV not a Honda civic!! Our MDX gets same gas mileage as our Pathfinder, if you want excellent gas mileage buy something smaller. Awesome car!!

Rattle Rattle Bang Bang - 2016 Acura MDX
By Jerold - February 21 - 11:56 amThe tech package was better in our 2004 MDX, Impossible for a six foot man to get in and out of drivers seat, and lastly the car has dash rattles and not only that the rear of the suv it sounds like it is bottoming out when it crosses tar stips.

2007 SUV of the year! - 2007 Acura MDX
By MDX Dad - February 21 - 3:50 amI was looking for a vehicle for my wife and daughter. I am the kind of guy that will research vehicles for months and months before making a decision. After comparing the MDX with just about every luxury suv (ie, X5, XC90) on the market, the decision became easy. The MDX has a luxurious feel but still has a lot of function to the design. The technology is amazing and easy to get used to (my wife is not a tech geek at all and she is loving the nav, blue tooth, rear view camera, etc.). Very safe vehicle. After all the research I am convinced this is the SUV of the year, when luxury, quality, performance, and Acuras reliability are all thrown together. Best vehicle we have ever owned!!

Great Value - 2008 Acura MDX
By Lee - February 16 - 7:53 amI have always driven BMWs and the last car was the GX 470 Lexus. The new 2008 Acura is an excellent value for the money. It is about 12K less than the X5 for the same amenities. Very happy with the purchase. I have not had it serviced yet so cannot give an opinion on that yet.

Built to last - 2004 Acura MDX
By Redfern - February 15 - 10:00 amThis is my second MDX. My first one performed exceptionally well. Interior road noise was evident. The 2004 has improved markedly in many respects. Handling, ride, and horsepower. Better fuel economy is edvident. The vehicle is superbly engineered. While the brakes are excellent, The 2001 wass superior.

Best vehicle ever owned - 2003 Acura MDX
By dbehrens - February 6 - 2:00 amRide and acceleration are excellent. The seat and driving position are very good. We waited a long time and a lot of searching to find this vehicle. Nothing with seating for 7 handled or looked as nice as my MDX. We are also thrilled with the Midnight Blue Pearl Exterior and Saddle enterior.

Pretty much perfect - 2001 Acura MDX
By Paul - January 27 - 6:01 pmI wish I could be more constructive, but it is hard to think of anything wrong with this vehicle. We were faced with the decision of buying a new, midscale SUV, or a used, upscale one like an MDX. Boy, are we glad we bought the MDX. If we didnt know, wed think it was brand new. Do the homework, and youll find that the MDX offers the most interior room (including a 3rd row seat) in a package that is still midsized. If you want the ability to haul kids all around town in a safe, AWD SUV, but dont want a Yukon or Expedition, then this is the rig for you. There is no comparison to the RX 300, which is tiny compared this this (on the inside).
