Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Blue Beauty - 2003 Acura MDX
By KauaiMDX - April 11 - 10:00 amI really like this vehicle alot. There have been a few annoyances - the largest with the service department I have visited twice. This SUV is very comfortable to drive, has great heating and AC. It handles very well for a SUV.

My analysis after 2 weeks. - 2004 Acura MDX
By smc2103 - March 25 - 10:00 amGot my 04 MDX about 2 weeks ago. I am getting about 20.5 mpg (mostly highway, some local) on average so far. I am happy with this average as my 96 TL was giving only about 2 miles more. I have no sloshing issue, however the 2K RPM humming sound is there. However, I have learnt to ignore it, and doesnt bother me too much. Other than that really loving the drive! Would have loved Acura to place some light over the coin tray!

Best Midsize SUV - 2007 Acura MDX
By Corry - March 23 - 4:40 pmCompared with Mercedes ML350, Lexus 350, BMW X5 3.0, Volvo XC90. Better than the ones compared to. With Mercedes and BMW everything is an option. I had a MB S430. I spent too much time repairing the vehicle. MDX comes fully loaded with all options. The audio system is excellent. It plays MP3s of DVDs. It can hold 6+1 DVDs loaded with MP3. 7 * 8.4 GB (dual layer) = approx 60GB of songs... AMAZING !! Quality of audio is also excellent. Navigation rocks. MB navigation is like Mickey Mouse compared to this. I never thought of being so happy of a Honda over the MB.

My first SUV - 2002 Acura MDX
By Padma - March 22 - 10:00 amThis is my first SUV. I was always little hesitant to drive SUVs, I am more of a car person. But I was totally impressed once I got in to the vehicle. And the best thing about is I am not missing the family minivan.. right after I drove off the dealership, we went out of town with my parents and two teenage children and some luggage. No one complained abount being crammed.

Dont get on the road with out it smile - 2005 Acura MDX
By Anthony - March 19 - 7:00 amDriving this car I found to be very reliable and surefooting. This would be the car to drive before making any decisions on another model of SUVs. It is not totally an off road vehicle, but capable of holding its own.

2016 MDX vibration - 2016 Acura MDX
By Very disappointed - February 20 - 2:57 amI bought a 2016 Acura MDX within the first week I noticed a vibration between 55 to 75 mph, at 459 miles I took it in to the dealer to install the mounding I had purchased and told them it had a vibration they balanced the tires. It did not solve the problem, took it back a second time where I was told by the service writer that there was nothing wrong with the car, I would find nothing wrong with it and it drives just as well as any car on the lot. You can visibly see the steering wheel shake and feel the vibration. I took it in a third time, took a service technician out with me, he witnessed the steering wheel shaking and vibrating. So I asked, ok we are in agreement that you witnessed the steering wheel shaking and vibrating he said yes, I took his name and wrote it down along with date and time. The dealer had my car for about a week, which they did give me a loaner, they called and said they had figured it out, they replaced the brake rotors. Needless to say the vibration is still there, since then I have taken it to a tire store that told me I had three bad tires, took it back to the dealer, they road force balanced the tires, vibration is still there. I have been in contact with Acura Client Relations since the second service appointment, next step is meeting with the District Service Manager. Not to mention how the transmission shifts, I am hoping they come out with a software update for that. Needless to say I am very disappointed and regret purchasing the MDX.
