Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

The Greatest SUV Ive Ever Owned - 2004 Acura MDX
By Acura Lover - September 22 - 2:00 amBetter than the X5 I used to own. Were planning to get a second one when my wifes Volvo X70 lease is up. The kids love the room and enjoy the option of having their own row with the seven passenger seating. The performance and handling on the MDX is like a fine performance car. The four wheel drive is seemless and the gas mileage blows my former X5 away. I had to wait for the MDX since its the most popular SUV in its class, but trust me, its so worth it. Dollar for dollar, you just cant beat it. It has features that come standard that the X5 just couldnt touch. If youre in NJ, definitely go to DCH Montclair Acura.

Love this vehicle - 2008 Acura MDX
By leennp - September 13 - 6:03 pmPurchased this vehicle to replace Suburban and its string of problems and have been nothing but pleased with the MDX. Even like the nav system which I only got so I could get the DVD and rear lift gate. Highly recommend this vehicle, gas mileage has been better than stated.

Outstanding SUV - 2005 Acura MDX
By HappyRealtor - September 9 - 3:06 pmHave owned this vehicle since Nov. 04 and never ONCE regretted my choice. Shopped for 6 months before deciding on the Acura MDX. As a Realtor, I drive many hours a day with clients and they absolutely rave about the ride. Wouldnt be without the NAV system -- its awesome and gets me out of traffic jams easily. Comfortable, easy and fun to drive. Holds tons of cargo and the third row for seating is actually roomy enough for adults! Only wish the gas mileage were a little better but that is typical of all SUVs. I will keep this vehicle for as long as I can.

Best SUV In Price Class - 2007 Acura MDX
By Bill - September 6 - 12:03 pmSUV handling is exceptional, lives up to marketing hype. Technology is easy to use, however expect a learning curve to master all aspects of manual and voice commands. Third row seating area is of margional use (small children). Excellent power at mid and upper ranges. No early build or mechanical problems noted.

Acura MDX Touring w/Entertainment - 2003 Acura MDX
By lilbull - August 28 - 2:00 amExcellent SUV for the money. Many things come standard. There are only a few options. It drives like a powerful car as opposed to a truck. Very comfortable.

Excellent Compromise - 2003 Acura MDX
By SteveV - August 28 - 2:00 amFor a family with four kids this is an excellent and balanced compromise. Priced well - as long as you can work your way around the dealer/accesory mark-up issues. Decent performance within the class. Very respectable handling. If you need the space this is a great way to go.

Totaled 3 month old, bought another - 2004 Acura MDX
By bmartys - July 31 - 10:00 amI totaled our 3 month old MDX at 75mph on the interstate. It flipped end over end twice across the median into oncoming traffic. We opted to get another MDX because I think I would have been dead in anything else even though none of the airbags deployed.
