Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

2005 MDX - tested better than the rest - 2005 Acura MDX
By Texan - February 1 - 4:10 pmEarly days, but extremely satisfied: soft ride, good acceleration, great nav & stereo, seats all roomy and comfortable, and sits high with good view of surrounding traffic. Road tested (over 2 month period) against Lx-330, Fx-35, M-Class, VW-T and the Pilot (just see if there was a difference since everyone said it was just a Pilot - Acura is a much tighter drive, not to mention the luxury items - it is different).

noisy noisy - 2002 Acura MDX
By Norick Baboomian - January 27 - 10:00 amIts a ok suv to have, couldnt wait to buy it. But for a $45k suv I could buy a quieter suv. Lots of wind and road noise. The armrest is not comfortble while driving. Should have waited another year so I can get an improved 2002 model. Acura doesnt take the responsibility to upgrade it, so I am not happy with their service. One of the victims of a first year production car buyr.

Fun to Drive - 2005 Acura MDX
By Quest Fan - January 15 - 7:03 amAfter going through some more expensive SUVs, I settled for the MDX. Has more seating capacity than the RX330 or ML320 at a much lower price. Love the way they package the vehicle so you dont have to mix and match like other vehicles.

Car Mans Best Car - 2007 Acura MDX
By Mr. Research - January 14 - 2:30 am2007 MDX may be best car Ive ever had. My previous cars were no slouches: BMW 540i (6-speed), M5, X5, and Infiniti FX-45. I loved all of them! This is very similar to X5 only leaves $20,000 in your pocket. This car has fantastic ride in comfort for most roads, and sports car handling on windy mountain byways. We love the voice controls for Nav, climate and stereo. Stereo is best short of Audi A8 which runs $8,000. If you can find one, buy it loaded! Taupe interior is gorgeous! Seats are sensational! Power is adequate. Incredibly quiet too.

Awesome - 2008 Acura MDX
By Ali Samara - January 12 - 7:53 amThis is a great car. Ive had it for about three weeks and it is just so fun to drive. I added the 19" chrome wheels and it just looks great. The 300 hp engine is powerful and the nav system is the best on the market. Dont know how I ever lived without it. Best cross over suv on the market.

Awsome car!! - 2016 Acura MDX
By Raghu - January 7 - 1:06 pm2016 Acura MDX SH-AWD with Technology and Entertainment package has been very good so far: My overall experience with Autonation, Stevens Creek has also been very good, very friendly staff. The salesman Mr Allen Kim was very helpful so does the finance person Mr Christian. If you happen to decide to buy Acura buy it from Autonation, Stevens Creek and ask for Allen Kim. The car itself is very spacious, nice / plush interiors and I like the push-button gear shift once I got used to this. +Good Performance +Overall comfort +Excellent safety +120V AC supply in the rear console is very good and handy on the go. Cons: -Cruise control is not as smooth and speed is not constant when the roads have elevation. -Navigation is slow/un-intuitive. -Glove box illumination works only when the engine is ON -Third row leg space is okay for kids and bit jammed for adults but for the price/size, I guess this is okay. I was also considering Audi Q7 but I think I made a good decision to stick with Acura MDX due to its looks and features. Few things Acura could improve further, given that this is the "Entertainment package" trim: 1. USB port could also have supported the rear video playback (ex: AVI/MP4) 2. Similarly, instead of decade old audio/video jack ports in the rear video in/out, they could have included the HDMI port or maybe another USB port. 3. Could have included the BluRay disk drive instead of the previous/old generation DVD optical drive for the rear video playback 4. I hope / expect to see if Acura could fix or improve any of these and also consider adding "Car Play" integration in forthcoming firmware upgrade.

Out handle an S2000 with 3 kids - 2007 Acura MDX
By Cale Jones - January 5 - 7:06 amMy MDX elite in sport suspension mode will out handle my S2000. The way that the Super Handling AWD works with the magnetic suspension it is like you are on rails.

Its the best SUV - 2004 Acura MDX
By Tabasco - December 23 - 10:00 amThis is the best SUV on the market. Here are my only complaints: The switch for the sunroof is located to the left of the drivers wheel. Passenger can not control the sunroof. The other annoying thing is the clock, located on the radio which most times is not readable. They should either locate it in the instrument cluster or make it bright so I dont need glasses to see the time. It would be nice to make a time button on the Navigation screen.
