Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Great partner - 2001 Acura MDX
By HowardB - May 21 - 2:00 amCollected my (wifes) MDX from Houston - Nav. system was perfect for my return to Manhattan. Average speed something north of legal, fuel better than 23MPG. Next, we (wife, mother-in-law, baby, 2 cats, 12 fish and loads of luggage) drove to our new home in Houston. Again - high speed, great mileage. Since then - to Raleigh NC. No problems, no dramas, great ride...

Best Luxury SUV! - 2001 Acura MDX
By willyiam - May 4 - 2:00 amWe have owned our MDX for about 14 months now and driven it in all kinds of weather & conditions. It is a superior piece of engineering and drives beautifully. It was rated as the top luxury SUV by Motor Trend, Road & Track and Car & Driver and well deserved. With the large cargo area and the fold up rear seats, it is the perfect family vehicle. Seating configuration changes in a matter of seconds. All other options are well thought out. We had a DVD system with an 8" wide screen added which is great for trips.... Couldnt be happier with a vehicle!

Overall a great vehicle - 2005 Acura MDX
By Michael - April 26 - 2:13 amLooked at Pilot, Lexus 330, Volvo X90, BMW X5 and decided on MDX due to Acura reliability, safety, price and engine. Pilot too bland, Lexus not enough storage, Volvo did not like turbo charged engine and price and BMW not enough storage, price and reliabuility. Have 7,500 miles and so far AOK.

I Love My MDX - 2003 Acura MDX
By Sandranna - April 18 - 10:00 amResearched cars 3 yrs, chose MDX.Waited 9 mos (switch from 02 to 03,delayed it a few months).Well worth the wait! I accessorized it so its the sharpest one Ive seen yet.Very sporty!Im 54, had a Buick LeSabre for 11 yrs.Needed something sharp, sporty. I drive safer now: with its weight, its a weapon. Its L/W are same as my Buick, but it took me a long time to get used to driv- ing it.I did purchase a larger rearview mirror for help with backing up. Didnt know about the rear camera when I bought this; that whole package is EX- PENSIVE but I’d now consider it to help with backing up. A great car, passengers love it, & I plan to keep it 15-20 yrs!
