Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Best Luxury SUV in the class - 2008 Acura MDX
By wtliao - October 26 - 6:36 amThis is my first SUV after driving sedan for 15 years. MDX drives like a sports car! Love SHAWD handling and ride quality is comfy and quiet. The 5-speed auto transmission works flawlessly. I shouldve bought the sport package for sportier ride and sexy sport rims but we figure save additional 2K for my kidsÂ’ education funds. Navigation system is easy to use with voice recognition system. I think its the best luxury SUV in this class for a 45K value! Complaints: Bluetooth phonebook import only works for very limited cell phone models. Gas mileage isnt great, only 17 city/21 highway, but its a trade off for 300HP & SHAWD, I will never regret.

Good car for the price - 2002 Acura MDX
By first acura - October 19 - 2:00 amDid not like the look of Pilot. Needed 7seats. Dont want truck based SUVs because dont really need off road capability(just rough road cap. is fine). Fullsize is too bulky and cumbersome. Volvo is expensive and has questionable reliability. ===========> Acura MDX was my choice.

Love the MDX - 2003 Acura MDX
By kellym - October 17 - 10:00 amThe ride is just fantastic as is the handling. I went from a Sequoia to this and it is night and day in all areas. Much better in the snow also. I have put on 500 miles since buying it. I have driven it in the mountains, snow (heavy and wet) and then just the dry streets and do not have a complaint. I understand that it is NOT an off-road auto but a person should know that before the purchase. My wife and kids love it too. I can not say enough good things about this.

T.U.V. - 2003 Acura MDX
By Mal - October 17 - 2:00 amThe Acura MDX is "The Ultimate Vehicle". It seems to be designed for anyone and everyone with versatility that I have never seen in any other car, truck or hybrid. It performs flawlessly and is always up to any task, big or small. I recently traded in a GMC Envoy and after driving my new MDX; America has some serious catching up to do!

better than the more prestigious names - 2002 Acura MDX
By bjg - October 15 - 2:00 amI owned and Explorer, Grand Cherokee and an X5 before buying this one. It drives extremely well on and off road, provides luxury and utility in large doses and has a great sound system. There is also the added benefit of Acura (Honda) quality and I havent even had a small rattle yet.

Ill buy another - 2002 Acura MDX
By ReiverToo - October 15 - 2:00 amI love this car...er,truck...er,SUV. Ive owned it 2 yrs & have found nothing that I seriously dislike & a whole bunch thats great. I live in the So.Cal. mountains & spend a lot of driving time on curvy, up & down roads. The MDX handles super. It is fun & stable to drive. On ice & snow the AWD really comes through. It has an amazing amount of interior space considering the outside appearance. The biggest negative with the vehicle is the dealer network. Having owned two MBs and two Lexi, Ive become spoiled by excellent service. Acura dealerships(Ive been to three)are about on a par with Ford. Not what you expect of a supposed luxury nameplate.

X5 Beatter - 2002 Acura MDX
By maxw - October 15 - 2:00 amI have had an extrordinary experience with my MDX. The ride is excellent and the most features are convenient. I have not been able to get the home link to work with my garage door opener, but otherwise it has been great. The only bad thing to say is the Acura dealiships know they have a good car and are sometimes a little arrogant.
