The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Honda should stick to motorcycles - 2002 Acura MDX
By sadmatt - January 29 - 10:00 amWhat a joke. Service, and all dealers just downright rude. So you wait four months to find out the thing starts sometimes and not others. I can see why Toyota is the largest and richest automobile producer in Japan. This overpriced mini Van (what was I on when I bought this?) is just that. Buy a RX300 and be done with it. If you need to haul anymore than that wait for the new bigger Lexus. The service and car is much better.

Good value - 2002 Acura MDX
By drb - January 29 - 10:00 amFor the money, it is an excellent SUV. Others cost more and offer so much less. Wind noise is horrible for this "luxury" type of vehicle. Hopefully honda will fix it with the next model year. A pleasure to drive but would be better with more horse power.

Perfect for my wife - 2002 Acura MDX
By pattynjeff - January 29 - 10:00 amWe bought this vehicle for my wife and are very happy. This is a very nice daily driver. Plenty of power, roomy, smooth ride, and handles well. An exceptional value, the MDX was less expensive than the X5, RX300, and ML320.

Very pleased - 2002 Acura MDX
By MDX Rocks - January 22 - 2:00 amJust had our 7,500 mile service, and I cant praise this vehicle enough. Great power, looks, comfort, reliability. Having driven 330 miles through a serious snow storm on Christmas Eve, I feel qualified to say that the 4WD works extremely well. You can buy an X5 with options to match the MDX for thousands more, and you still wont be able to do anything about the space deficit. The extra seats and cargo space are VERY nice to have. If you want to be able to say "I drive a BMW", thats understandable - my wife and I just bought a 530i. But if you want value, the MDX is the clear choice.

noisy ride - 2002 Acura MDX
By RLJEB - January 21 - 2:00 amWe purchased this vehicle for the supposed reliability and extra seating capability. After approximately 1,000 miles I began to notice a high pitch ringing noise when going over 30mph. I have taken the MDX back to the dealer 3 times for repair to no avail. Also, whenever I change gears (i.e. go into reverse after being in park) the is a loud thud when braking. Dealer tells me this a normal characterisitc of the MDXs brake callipers (sp?) adjusting. Who knows? What I do know is that I am unhappy with the entire Acura experience. I paid close to $40,000 for a noisy vehicle which I do not enjoy driving.

Great Ride - 2007 Acura MDX
By Jake - January 18 - 9:53 pmWe never thought we would find a better ride than our 2004 Tahoe.This vehicle has a big car ride and handles like a sport car. We have had the new vehicle for a month and we have not seen another one on the road. I would find it hard to believe that there is a better midsize SUV on the road.

The X rocks - 2003 Acura MDX
By steve_seattle - January 16 - 2:00 amI have been very pleased with the MDX. I traded in my M3, because of the kids and skiing. I thought I would really miss it, but the MDX is great. A great car in the snow and, for such a large car, it is very fun to drive. I would recomend it to anyone in the SUV market. Plus the 6 hr drive to the mountains is realatively painless with the DVD system!

First Acura purchase - 2005 Acura MDX
By dan - January 15 - 1:36 pmTraded a 2003 LS 430 for this vehicle in order to secure the third row of seating. Ride not up to Lexus standards; however, all other features measure up and the value in relation to the SUVs from Lexus provided the decision to go with this vehicle.
