Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Great Vehicle - No Regrets - 2003 Acura MDX
By Guitarmdx - May 25 - 2:00 amVery good SUV, I have no regrets about it. The *only* downside is that the gas mileage has not been all that great at low city speeds. If you are at all interested in getting one, you should check out available acura mdx forums. Tons of info!

It Pays to Shop Around - 2003 Acura MDX
By MDX Owner in VA - May 20 - 10:00 amI spent almost a year shopping around for a new SUV. The MDX rises above the other SUVs in quality and features. Dealers were only dropping the price from MSRP by $500. I began looking at cars.com and found a 2003 fully loaded for thousands less. Im normally not one to shop for used vehicles but, if it has low milage (only 3800 miles) and perfect condition, go for it and save $$.

MDX - 2003 Acura MDX
By JASJASJAS - May 20 - 10:00 amThis is one of teh best ever designed cars. This 7 seven seating "suv" (crossover more like) has a 2-3-2 seatign arangment, and the back 2 seats can easily (VERY EASILY) be folded down to expose a huge trunk.

A great SUV - 2002 Acura MDX
By hdnordhaus - May 18 - 2:00 amRide and handling for an SUV is excellent, more like a sedan than SUV. Seats, driver and passenger, are the most comfortable of all vehicles I have ever been in. Fuel economy is remarkable (I get better than the claimed 23 MPG on the highway) considering the power is more than adequate.

Love my X - 2002 Acura MDX
By Caroline - May 15 - 2:00 amI have fallen in love with a car/ suv. So far I have driven through 3 snowstorms with out any fear, and driven to Florida twice. And, if someone wants to go somewhere, I volunteer to drive them. Handles like a dream, has great pickup, there is a great feeling of safety and control.

MDX - fun and efficient - 2005 Acura MDX
By Bill1701d - May 4 - 7:36 amThis is my first SUV and it is a fun car to drive. It also has great safety features and ample room although the third row has very tight leg room. Its cargo space is excellent with the third row seating down and adequate when up. The drive is firm but smooth and holds the road well. I just bought the car so these are initial reactions, but I have a feeling this will be a vehicle that will hold up through the years nicely.

My First SUV - 2001 Acura MDX
By SDS828 - April 30 - 2:00 amTest drove and personally rated about a half dozen mid-sized SUVs in fall 2000. Selected MDX over others for basically 3 reasons - best/most useable room for hauling (make 16-20 trips/year of 600-800 miles carrying lots hauling stuff in-town), ULEV rating, and best value compared to others driven. Perspective - previous car Toyota MR2!

First Acura - 2016 Acura MDX
By Paul Moyer - April 24 - 12:48 pmAfter owning several BMWs, Mercedes, and lastly a Jeep Grand Cherokee, I decided to look at Acura due to its quality reputation and value. A comparable BMW or Porsche would have cost 20K more. I was immediately impressed with the comfort, quality, and performance. Although not as sporty as BMW products I have owned, it drives and corners smartly. Probably the quietest vehicle I have owned. After many dealership visits with the Jeep, I look forward to years of routine service only with the Acura.
