Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Nice car/SUV - 2007 Acura MDX
By Pete C - June 28 - 12:46 amTook the car from the dealer then drove 2000 miles over the past 3 weeks. Fuel average is 20.1. More quiet, comfortable & fun to drive than the 2004 I traded in. Great sound system. NAV has greatly improved. Really need to read the driving manual. Tried Lexus RX 350 and BMW X5 but preferred the MDX ride, features & price. Miss the automatic windshield wipers & hope I never need to replace the "blue" headlights. Highly recommend it.

Love It - 2001 Acura MDX
By Rorytug - June 22 - 2:00 amHonda has long been known for quality and 2001 filled my dreams when they entered the SUV market in a big way. I was set to purchase a Lexus 300 and am soo glas I had waited the estra year. MDX is dollar for dollar a much better product! The MDX is luxurious, comfortable, powerful and drives like a car with the benefits of the SUV. Its disign is solid with small things like where the Homelink buttons are located set it above.

Excellent X - 2001 Acura MDX
By hopper2g - June 22 - 2:00 amPurchased new in 2000. Nothing but praise for Acura and this vehicle ever since. Our family has really enjoyed the MDX. There is plenty of room for all passengers and their gear while keeping them comfortable and safe. Still amazed by the sheer volume of interior room compared to the outside size. We get 25 MPG on the highway and its ULEV.

Best SUV in class - 2004 Acura MDX
By Blades - June 19 - 2:00 amThis is the best SUV on the market, feature for feature, dollar for dollar! There are more expensive SUVs! SUVs with more snob appeal, but that dont feed the Bulldog! They cannot carry hardly anything internally or compare with the Hondas ULEV motor! I would not trade mine which I use as a commercial vehicle for any other SUV on the market!

No Wonder its the 2007 SUV of the year - 2007 Acura MDX
By Acuraman3 - June 11 - 12:20 amHaving owned two Toyota 4Runners, a Lexus RX 300 and a 330, and having test driven the 2007 Lexus GX 470 and the BMW X5, I can say without a doubt that the 2007 Acura MDX - my very first Acura - is the best SUV Ive ever driven and much more fun than driving a car.The SH-AWD system alone is worth the price of ownership. The first big snow will make you smile because youll feel safe and secure, knowing youll get wherever you want to go. Actually, the SUV handles beautifully any time of year and Acura reliability means it wont be in the shop every month. The interior is classy and elegant. Comfortable and intuitive, its the best SUV Ive ever driven.

God Awful Noises! - 2016 Acura MDX
By Rita Kitchens - June 4 - 2:50 amYou should not buy this car! It makes terrible noises that come from the rear end, possibly the suspension. My car has been the the service department in Omaha, NE 3 times and the first two times they quickly replaced parts and said they fixed the noise. The 3rd time, I rode with a service tech and service manager and they heard the noises but said they did not know how to fix it. When I returned to pick up my car the service invoice coveniently mentioned that they "could not duplicate the noise". I got no support from the dealership at all and called Acura Corporate hoping for some better service but no such luck. They will tell you this very loud noise is a characteristic of the vehicle and likely wont do anything to fix it! Do not buy an Acura MDX!

AcuraMDX - 2002 Acura MDX
By nrstycz - June 3 - 2:00 amI live 100 miles from my nearest Acura dealer. As I had hoped, I have never had a need for service on my MDX except for oil, tire rotations, and wiper blades. My only significant complaint is the wind noise from interstate crosswinds are magnified by water channels on both sides of the windshield.

Love our MDX - 2002 Acura MDX
By americare - May 25 - 2:00 amThe MDX is nearly everything we expected it to be. It is very roomy, handles well and is comfortable to drive. We did however, expect better than 18.8 mpg considering the MDX requires premium gasoline. We would also like to have had a rear window that goes down. Otherwise it is a terrific vehicle and an excellent value!
