Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Cant hear the music - 2016 Acura MDX
By Michael - June 22 - 10:52 pmLoved the RDX and followed with the MDX. Mistake. From cold start the car takes a few seconds to download (or open) its software and the initial start is "jerky". The transmission/pick-up is initially slow. But the one awful feature is the radio- It has been to the dealer to check all connections-claims to have found none which I believe since the radio still cannot hold a station. Every station wanders/gets static. Think this is the worst car radio Ive had since I was a kid in my fathers 1958 Dodge.

MDX Delivers - 2004 Acura MDX
By Holly Morey - June 21 - 2:00 amThe 2004 Acura MDX offers more style, safety and performance standards than the competition (BMW and Lexus). We absolutely enjoy this SUV whether taking it off road or on weekend trips to Home Depot. There simply isnt a better SUV on the market under $45k.

#1 SUV on the road! - 2004 Acura MDX
By A. Montano - June 17 - 2:00 amThe MDX is the best SUV out on the market. I am a proud mom who went from a Honda (a great car) to the Acura MDX. Its not only reliable, nice looking but the best SUV on the road not only for moms but for anyone interested in an SUV. I have test driven other SUVs and the MDX is the perfect size. Its not too big and not too small. Plus it is considered one of the safest SUVs out there. It cant get any better than that.

Owner/Driver - 2004 Acura MDX
By Marvin - June 17 - 2:00 amMy biggest problem with the car is that I have to change the oil every 5,000 miles. My dealer could wear a Maytag uniform for all the business I give him.

Comfortable ride, absolutely horrible GPS system - 2016 Acura MDX
By Ellen - June 10 - 6:55 amOverall, the car rides comfortably and reliably, handles well in all weather conditions. My only two complaints: the transmission is a bit sluggish (took it in and they did an update, but dont really notice a difference) and the GPS is absolutely horrible. I am very disappointed that, after spending $50k on a brand new car - a car where, btw, the GPS is not standard (included in the technology package, which I have) - the GPS is utterly substandard. Not only is it slow, it takes 5 minutes to enter in an address, and half the time it is just plain WRONG. Very frustrating. I have to use my Garmin because it is so worthless. Acura owes better to its customers.

MDX Owner - 2001 Acura MDX
By ACURALOVER - June 8 - 2:00 amI have owned this vehicle for 3 years never had a problem even once. It has always been a reliable trusty vehicle. The interior is very comfortable, and the third row seats are pretty roomy (for third-row seats). Cargo carrying capacity is amazing with both the second and third row seats folded flush into the floor.
