Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Excellent! - 2003 Acura MDX
By JMC - January 24 - 2:00 amIve had the MDX for over a year and I am still impressed by the performance and styling. The MDX gives better gas mileage the more I drive it. A telescoping steering would have been nice to have. I recommend it to anyone looking for an utility vehicle under 40K it beats all the competition hands down. Cant wait to see what Acura will put out next.

great to date - 2003 Acura MDX
By goodsofar - January 24 - 2:00 amHave had my MDX for two weeks and so far its great. Drove 4Runner, M350, MDX and was headed to BMW but never got there. Had a Tahoe previously and the MDX handles better, has a more carlike ride, better standard features, and was less to purchase. Gave a 9 on exterior design only because side door moldings are an add on. Alittle concerned with possible door dings in parking lots. This SUV has delivered style, ride, efficiency, safety, and comfort at a very affordable price. The 5 star safety rating is a plus. I drive a car for a long time and Im hopeful this vehicle will deliver many years of maintenance free miles.

acura mdx - 2003 Acura MDX
By cavender - January 13 - 10:00 amAfter having owned Explorer Limiteds, and having driven Lexus, Mercedes, GMC, Toyota, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, and other SUVs, this is definitely and clearly the best luxury SUV for the money. Extremely low maintenance and excellent dealer service. Very quiet but powerful. Comfortable ride, high visibility, well-built, good tracking, very versatile, packs a lot of gear. Have never used the thrid seat, and luckily, it folds flat so it offers good storage in back. This is easily the best SUV on the market. I told Ford I would never be back.

Love my MDX! - 2004 Acura MDX
By DebbieM - December 31 - 2:00 amI am not a car enthusiasist, but I love the MDX! Drove it 1600 miles shortly after getting it & it performed well & was very comfortable (even for my 65" husband who hates cramped spaces). I like it too because although it is attractive -- it isnt showy. Weve never owned an Acura before, but I suspect this is not our last one! (PS - our golden retriver loves any vehicle, but our little "uppity" dogs even love it!)

GOOD COLLEGE KID CAR - 2004 Acura MDX
By Crystal - December 11 - 12:16 pmThe car is excellent for a child going off to college and not knowing the area. The navigation system is very handy and the pressure sensitive tires have an icon that idicated when the tire pressure it low. Though, keep in mind just because the pressure is low doesnt mean there is a nail in the tire. The only fault I would have to say is the camera which comes on the navigation screen when you back up. Objects are closer then they appear and ill just leave it at that.
