Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Best in Class! - 2007 Acura MDX
By Tony - June 11 - 10:10 amWife and I were in market for vehicle with 3rd row of seating. We dont like the large truck-like SUVs and also do not like minivans. We decided to look into the luxury SUV segment and narrowed our choices to the BMW X5, Volvo XC90, LandRover LR3, and the Acura MDX. After test driving all and reviewing the numbers, the MDX was the obvious choice. Unbelievable extras for the money. When compared with these other luxury SUVs, I would have had to pay around $60K to get the same amount of features. Acura navigation currently head and shoulders above competition. Love the combination of luxury, utility, and convenience.

Saving My life - 2001 Acura MDX
By Robin S - June 5 - 12:34 pmTwo days ago I totaled my MDX, hitting a telephone pole head on. Fortunately thanks to a power greater than I and the structure of My MDX, I left without a scratch. I wont drive anything else. I had purchased my 2001 MDX used and loved it. Functions like a minivan, drives like a sports car and has the top of the line luxury that I love. No problems with the car @ 60 plus thousand miles. I look forward to purchasing my next one.

Decent Car, Mediocre Nav System - 2003 Acura MDX
By lkrakauer - June 1 - 2:00 amMy MDX drives nicely on dry roads and in snow, and it comfortably seats 7. The DVD entertainment system works really well (my kids LOVE it). But I wish I hadnt bought the navigation system. The voice recognition is nearly useless. The route selection is terrible because it tries to complete it in less than 10 seconds (often causing routes up to 1/3 longer -- and, yes, I am familiar with all of the route selection options). If it cannot find the satellites (i.e., it is lost) the voice still gives (usually wrong) directions but no verbal warning (DANGEROUS!).

Everything I always wanted - 2002 Acura MDX
By bphill - May 30 - 4:12 pmThis vehicle truly has the best of all worldsÂ’ ex.style, comfort, luxury, performance, and fuel efficient. Not to mention that the sound system is top notch (even has a sub). My wife and I both are very pleased all around. The next vehicle I buy will be a newer version of the MDX. The only thing I wish I had in this one is the navigation option. The next one I buy will have the navigation and dvd entertainment.

2016 Acura MDX ... NO Spare tire ... no tools - 2016 Acura MDX
By Peter - May 26 - 4:59 amThe base model has no spare tire and no tools to change one. I was stuck with a flat tire and had to go through an ordeal to get the flat fixed.

Darn near perfect - 2004 Acura MDX
By Acura Mom - May 9 - 2:00 amTraded my 2001 MDX in for this car...wanted the Navi system. Loved my 2001, love the 2004. Good color choices, both interior and exterior. Handles beautifully, quiet interior, good power. Lots of room for my kids and my big dog. Rear camera is a great feature. I do miss the sunglasses holder that was in the 2001 version. Cant have everything!

Smooth like a weedwacker - 2016 Acura MDX
By Joey - May 2 - 7:31 pmWhat happened to Acura? It used to be a luxury brand! The 9 speed transmission cannot figure out what gear to be in. And the ride is very bouncy! Lot of vibrations when driving on the highway. If you plan on spending $50k, I would look elsewhere.
