Overview & Reviews
The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.
New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

2007 Acura MDX - 2007 Acura MDX
By Vic J. - September 16 - 4:30 amVery nice vehicle overall, but not outstanding. Acceleration (off-the-line) is not very strong and feels only very slightly better than my previous 02 MDX. Once it gets going (around 3500 RPM) the engine comes to life. Dont see all the hype about SuperHandling-AWD - much better than the old model, but not any better than others such as the new BMW X5. Ride comfort great with the Active dampers! and front seats are excellent! - but fuel economy is a big disappointment - only getting around 12mpg city and 18 mpg highway at 75mph. (I have about 1650 miles on my MDX.)

Reliability>Safety>Quality>Value - 2004 Acura MDX
By Goli - September 15 - 10:00 am3.3K. I am happier with it every day. QUALITY- no a rattle/squeak. Great leather. PERFORMANCE- fast, powerful, effortless. SUSPENSION-comparable SUVs are either too soft or too stiff, MDX has perfectly balanced a comfortable ride with very good HANDLING. UTILITY useful ample space, turn seating for 7 into open flush space in just seconds. My dogs love this vehicle (BTW- the optional CARGO LINER is a must-have (tailor-made for the MDX protects interior from dogs, bikes, scuba gear, etc). COMFORT-very quiet (although some wind noise at very high speeds), comfortable, and great seats. AC is great! SE FL resident on a Black/Black.

Acura MDX - 2005 Acura MDX
By Bart - September 14 - 3:13 amVery fun to drive in comparison to my prior Land Cruiser. Handles the road, curves and all, very nimbly. Touch screen controls somewhat cumbersome to use while driving.

You cant go wrong. - 2005 Acura MDX
By Hunter - September 7 - 6:51 pmIts all included. When comparing to the others, consider total cost. Moonroof, heated, 8 way pwr seats, inter. wipers, XM radio, OnStar, leather, memory seats/mirrors...its all included in the Touring pkg. Nav is great AND Nav gives you back-up camera. Engine is quiet, smooth, tranny is seamless, and the confidence in high- speed interstate ramp turns and winding roads is fantastic - just a terrific stance. Good sight lines. Its not a drop-dead head- turner, but thats the Acura conservative style. The up-side is that everything is solid and proven before it goes into the car. The "A" badge does draw some ohhhhhhhhhs. (Try the gold badges).

Great Choice! - 2005 Acura MDX
By GMSUSIE - September 7 - 7:30 amI have had this car for two months -- I have enjoyed every driving experience with it. It is comfortable -- it feels like a true "luxury" car. The navigation system and satellite radio are pluses. The gas mileage isnt great, but I do drive it "around town" a lot of the time which doesnt help much. We tried out "all" of the suvs and are so pleased that this is the one we chose.

Great Decision - 2005 Acura MDX
By left1 - September 3 - 12:01 pmBefore deciding on the MDX we checked out a lot of SUVs. What sold us was the Honda/Acura quality and dependablity as well as the feel of this SUV. We have had 9 Honda/Acura products and this one is great! Handles better than a lot of cars and rides better than most as well. We took it on a 12 hour trip and were very pleased. We have not had any problems with the MDX. The longer we have this SUV the more we like it!
