Model Overview:

The Acura MDX is a midsize luxury SUV with a carlike unibody platform and three rows of seats. The original MDX bowed in 2001, at a time when most competitors still featured body-on-frame construction and the term "crossover" was but a glimmer in some marketer's eye. Since then, Acura has maintained the MDX's family-friendly packaging, including standard seven-passenger seating, while spicing up the recipe with various styling, performance and handling enhancements. In typical Acura fashion, every MDX comes well equipped, with options generally limited to a few choice features bundled into packages.

New or used, the Acura MDX stands out for its comfort, versatility and refinement. It's one of our top recommendations for a family-oriented luxury crossover SUV. In reviews, we've found the MDX to be a polished performer, as it remains one of the more engaging luxury crossovers to drive and also provides a commendably supple ride. Weak points include cramped third-row accommodations for adults and less sumptuous interior appointments than in some rivals, though the MDX's strong resale value offers ample compensation.

Fun to drive, very responsive handling. Fuel economy is disappointing. Nav system and touch screen controls locked up when car was only a few weeks old. Temp control on heater has never worked properly and seatbelt sensor for passenger seat doesnt work. Other than that I love the car.

Car drives very nice and is quiet compared to other Honda vehicles using the same platform. Features (tech and entertainment pkg) are well thought-out and appeal to those who can appreciate new technology. I only have 1k miles on the clock so its still too early to tell how the MDX will hold up. Michelin tires are very quiet and handle well.

I enjoy the smooth ride and the technology advanced features. I got all Navi and RES on my MDX because I didnt want buyers remorse. And, I must say its worth it. Ive had mine since Aug 05 and love it. Navi has been reliable when I input addresses, but not as reliable with directory assistance.

It is my second MDX. I love this car so does my family. For the price it is the roomiest and best SUV on the market. Fun to drive and easy to maintain.

  • This SUV rocks!!! - 2005 Acura MDX

I decided go for this MDX because it has 7 seats, better values and excellent ride quality. It is wider than RX330 and comes with all the standrad features. However, I got around 15-19 mile per gallon with premium gas, it is not cheap!!!

We have owned this truck for about 6 months and have been about 95% happy with our purchase. Owned several S U vehicles and this one outdrives them all by a long shot. Often have 5 people in the vehicle and its very comfortable.

I traded my 2001 MDX in for the 2004. What a difference 3 years makes. The MDX drives better, is faster, more responsive and more comfortable then the 2001. The kids love the entertainment system.
