  • Reliable engine, the rest-lacking - 1993 Acura Legend

With about 126,000 miles currently the car doesnt have a great deal of wear on the engine. I have never had a problem with the engine. However I have had problems with various other non-mechancial parts on the vehicle. Replacements include: drivers side door handle with electronics, master cylinder and ignition switch. All of those with installation totalled $1000 plus. The engine is fairly powerful for the time period, however the gas mileage is decent at best. I average 16-18 mpg in a suburban area and on the highway 25-30. The ride is smooth but somewhat unresponsive. Turns are clumsy and makes the car feel heavy. Interior is rather plush for the base model.

  • Good..but not good enough - 1993 Acura Legend

I bought my Legend at 129,000 miles.. i loved every bit of it until 2 years and 35,000 miles later. I was upset to learn that these cars have expensive problems. Bad Head Gasket, sticky door. Rust around typical Honda and Acura areas. Gages went out. Window motor slowed way down. I sold it after 3 years and bought a SC400 Lexus. I would never go back to 90s Acuras or Hondas ever again!!! 1st and 2nd gears are good. But 3rd lags and 4th is nothing. I took care of my car very well. washed all the time and maintained at Acura Dealership. No major problem except BHG. I wish i owned the rare Type 2 Coupe Manual!! I suggest buying from a non-snowed state. where rust hasent started.

I love my Acura, the only things I have had to replace were the battery and the radiator. Other than that I have never had a problem. It is very fun to drive and I will never get rid of it!!

  • Still a dedicated owner after a Decade - 1993 Acura Legend

It was purchased originally in 1996 from a family member then transfered to me so it has been well kept for quite sometime. Maintaining the vehicle has been average tires are not fun to purchase due to specialized size. But I still say, "Luuuuv my car!" I am having a fuel system issue. When I turn key to start, once Ive let go of key it does not stay running. If key is continuously turned to the start position it wants to turn over but will not stay running.

Car was passed down to me from my dad with 230,000 miles on it. The car is basically like new. Everything from the engine to the interior is as strong as it ever was. Very little signs of wear and tear. Like I said, the engine (whole car really) is extremely strong, and has one the nicest high revving sounds I have heard on a car. Put it past 5k on the tach. and it lets out a bit of a yell but no hesitation at all! I love this car and would only trade it for another legend (gs, 6 speed maybe)! The name really does say it all.

Bought this 8 months ago. Wow. What a car. Bought it after reading all the positive reviews -- I mean, this thing scores high. Bought it for my wife. She LOVES it -- and at 11 years old now! Bought it with 160,000 miles on it. Mint condition, one owner, always maintained at dealer. Smooth, quiet, powerful. Love the lines. Beautiful styling that will never go OUT of style. Lots of power with the 3.2 V6. Cruise at 90, and you dont feel a thing. Really a fantastic car.

  • Legend...The best in its class - 1993 Acura Legend

I love my rare 5 speed w/o leather Legend. In my opinion it is the best car in its class. My mom and dad just bought a 2003 Toyota Camry and they want to sell it and buy a Legend like mine. I get 24-27 mpg with the 5 speed. Although I have had this car just over a month, I have put over 2.7k miles on it. I started out with 125k. I know that it is a reliable car. The Bose premium sound is essential in this car. It does have its little quirks, i.e. fan motor squeels when it runs a long time. But no major problems that I can see in the near future except a new clutch. It is extremely responsive and fun to drive. I love it too much to sell it.

  • Dont Sell Yours, Youll Be Sorry! - 1993 Acura Legend

My friend and I bought our 93 Acura Legend LS Coupes Type II automatics at the same time. He sold his 1 year later because he wanted to get the Lexus SC400. He said the SC400 had more status. Needless to say, I advised him not to sell. Now that Lexus has more problems than I can keep track of, and thats just the problems I know about. I still have my Legend and I have done nothing but routine maintenance (brakes, tires, oil change, brakes, tires, oil change, brakes, tires, oil change)!
