  • After18 years its been a good one! - 1991 Acura Legend

I bought this car new in 1991. It has been the best car ever. At 18 years of age it still looks brand new. Classic styling never looks old. My oldest son has been driving it the last 7 years and it now has well over 200K miles on it. It still runs great... a testament to what great engineering and meticulous upkeep will get you. One word about the lack of cup holders. In 1991 they didnt have cup holders in cars other than minivans!

I bought this car brand new in 1991 and cant imagine replacing it. It was hard to find because I wanted a stick, but the performance difference is well worth it. I still love it after all these years. This model year was magic. Classic looks, stellar quality, sedan convenience with sports car handling (almost). Ive got 150K on it and my mechanic tells me I can expect to double that before Im through. They just dont make em like this anymore. The only thing that could make me sell it is if I start having trouble finding parts, which happened to me recently with a piece of rubber trim that just decomposed with age in the L.A. smog.

We got our 91 Legend sedan in 2002. Since then we have had basically 0 problems. I love the design of this car inside and out! Extremely fun to drive! Very powerful car. A timeless beauty. Amazing car!

This has been in my family since new. It was my uncles before it was mine. I now have it past 205,000 and its still going strong. Some interior components are showing their age, like the leather is going and I have the same minor issues that crop up with Legends of age. Had to replace the CV joints and steering rack boots to pass inspection, a little rust is showing over the rear wheel well. Tuned it up and now runs like new. NO BAD HEAD GASKETS. Not bad for a 16 yo car. 23 mpg mixed driving. Any other 91 can pull that off with 200 hp V6? NOPE. Sometimes Im tempted to drive our Corolla instead to save gas, but I always grab the Acura keys. Love driving this car. Great car for DIY, too.

  • One of the great Hondas - 1991 Acura Legend

I truly love my 91 Legend Coupe. Sure, it cant go 0-60 in six flat, and maybe the mpg is a little low for $3.00 a gallon, but its worth it. Simply driving it around town is fun, compared to some other beaters Ive driven. You get it on the highway and its like a dream solid as a rock. Performance, however, is not what you would expect from 200 hp, but Im pretty sure thats due to the weight and the transmission design (automatic). It is truly the kind of Honda that you hear about, the ones that have 125k+ miles and run better than most late model American cars. My advice: if you can find one of these with life left in it, buy it.

Purchased used in 1998 with 67K miles 5 speed manual trans not auto. I am the second owner. Clutch was replaced at 60K miles by previous owner. Vehicle currently has 118K miles and still runs like new. Exterior still has mirror shine with the exception of bubble spots above rear wheel well and around windshield. No rust, just bubbles. The bubbles were there when I bought the vehicle. Quality interior: no cup holders, but this was designed as a sports sedan not a family vehicle. Carpet, floor mats, and upholstery still looks like new. Bose stereo ok. Easy to replace with aftermarket if you desire. If you are considering buying one you will not be disappointed. MPG 22 city/29 highway premium.

  • honda/acuras best car ever - 1991 Acura Legend

I bought this car from a private seller back in march 03. It was a little beat up on the inside, but it ran like a jewel. I had to replace some things mainly due to age - at that point it was 11 and now its 14 and runs better than ever. The interior design is better than a lot of younger cars on the road today and the exterior design is timeless. People mistake my 91 for a 2000 or 2002! The Bose system was okay I soon replaced it after I bought it just because I wanted to and I couldnt add any subs or anything to the system without blowing the speakers. Other than that the car is an absolute gem. Highly recommend this for a first car for a teenager.

This is a solid, quiet, well-built, reliable luxury automobile that I bought on 12/95 with a little over 59,000 miles. It is fast as I have had it up to 135 mph on three occasions, with plenty of gas pedal left there was no wind noise and I did not feel like I was going over 80 at that time. It will still run high speeds with no wind noise even though it is almost 14 years old with 148,000 miles.
