Our Toyota Highlander is the best vehicle wes ever owned. Its comfortable, gets good gas mileage and can haul heavy loads of gifts for our grandchildren. It seats seven and we love it.

  • Surprised - 2006 Toyota Highlander

This is the first Toyota I have ever purchased. I bought it when fuel prices began to climb and I needed economical transport. I am surprised by the many innovative ideas and features I find every day when I drive it. The only suggestion I have so far is to improve the lumbar support of the seats as I have problems getting comfortable for long hauls. The features in my Limited belong on vehicles costing much more and Im sure it will have the vaunted reliability Toyota is famous for. Looking forward to putting a lot of miles on it.

  • hesitates, cant be fixed - 2006 Toyota Highlander

after 18 months I still cant trust this vehicle to accelerate when I step on the gas. It takes too long to shift, double shifts and hesitates. Ive had to change the way I drive so I dont get slammed into. Interior space usage is not very efficient. Buyers remorse. Toyota, after three trips to dealership says theres nothing wrong with it.

I have the hybrid. I love this car. Very reliable, no problems at 40k miles. Ive towed several trailers over 900 miles each time, no problems.

Only had the car a day or so, but the car handles amazingly well. It has plenty of pick up and go, handles busy city traffic, and even some muddy and very bumpy roads. My dog can get into the back easily, and I love the easy to use radio and heat/ac adjustments. The car looks good too, and I have received countless positive comments on it.

  • My 06 Highlander sport - 2006 Toyota Highlander

I love my 06 Highlander Sport v6. Drives like a dream with precise handling and very much a carlike ride. I like the firm but not choppy ride. The sport tuned suspension provides a very nice and predictable handling experience. Corners beautifully, and the acceleration of the V6 is powerful, yet provides decent mpg. My Highlander now has 3000 miles on it and my mpg overall city/hwy is 20mpg. Ive been getting around 22.5 on the hwy. I love my highlander and happy I made the choice of owning one.

  • My Review - 2006 Toyota Highlander

I have owned my Highlander for several weeks and have only 300 miles on the odometer. I wanted to replace our 1997 Lexus LS 400 with a vehicle which would carry more items for us to carry to our summer home. On our first tank of gas the meter says we are getting 26.5 mpg on all local driving. It drives and handles very well and has a surprising acceleration compared with our Lexus. The amenities compare favorably with the Lexus, but I miss the automatic seat and steeringwheel tilt adjustments as well as the additional leg room in the second row of seats.

I have had my car two weeks, already 400 miles, and love it. I have had 4 different SUVs, all from different manufactures and I think I have found what I have been looking for. The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of leg room. It is fun to drive, handling is great even in the snow and the engine is so quiet and there is no wind noise. Mine has manual adjust seats and I actually have the setting more comfortable than the 8 way power seats I have previously had. I always kept adjusting those and never found the right comfort zone. As the newer models come out they are very sleek but also have huge blind spots, this SUV has none.

  • Nice SUV for the money, only two changes - 2006 Toyota Highlander
    By -

Very good vehicle for the money. Ride is very comfortable. Fun to drive. 4 cyl. is not lacking in power. Im sure 6 cyl. is more powerful, but I chose better gas mileage. So far getting 25.3 MPG highway using air conditioning. Two things could be better. Front seats are too short. Doesnt support my legs as well as my old Explorer. Otherwise, seats are very comfortable. Steering wheel only tilts a little. Explorer steering wheel tilt had greater range of movement and I liked the lower position. Highlander steering wheel doesnt go low enough for me.
