  • I love my new Highlander!!!!!!! - 2002 Toyota Highlander

This drives so much like a car and not an SUV. Believe it or not I chose this over the Lexus RX300 and not because of the price!!!

First trip 1500 miles thru the West Va mountains. It handled like a dream. Smooth, quiet and comfortable. Excellant pickup, Seats are great, Bose sound is wonderful. Auto climate control works well. What more can I say.

The Highlander is a great vehicle for its purpose. It is not designed to be used for offroad, but the ride is that of luxury car. As an alternative to a station wagon, this vehicle excels. If you are looking for a great family vehicle, this is it!

A great little 4 cylinder SUV. Nice ride, good visibility, good overall quality. I like the way the Highlander drives, handles in the snow, and looks when I clean it. Ive had some problems with fan noise and dashboard rattles. I plan on getting 150k out of this vehicle - just like my old Ford Explorer. For the money Toyota builds a great vehicle. I wanted a Camry station wagon & I think I got one.

The Highlander Limited V6 mimics the Lexus RX300 in many ways but more reasonably priced. Comfort and build quality are top-notch. More usuable storage than the Lexus. Drivetrain and ride are similar to a Camry, not like a typical SUV. Exterior size is about the same as a Honda Accord, which makes it easy to maneuver, park, and fit in your garage. The Limited is missing some things that would be expected on a vehicle over $33K, specifically steering wheel mounted audio controls. The stereo is first-rate, however. Weve had the Highlander only a month but it is great and deserves serious consideration for SUV buyers.

Dealer took 2 weeks longer than initially promised to get it in (in the Bluestone metallic). My wife and I love the car. The interior is very comfortable and stylish (the two-tone leather is great looking).

Comes loaded with lots of standard equipment, does not need many options. 2002 model has full console standard between front buckets which was not on 2001 model. Came equipped with optional Privacy Glass, roof rack, running lights, aluminum wheels, cargo and floor mats and keylees entry. Has wonderful ride and handling. Options are on pricey side. Paid $27,200 complete with NJ sales tax and fees.

We bought this SUV after a lot of research. It seemed to have what we were looking for in a family car. We have had it for almost three years and love it. We use either 89 or 93 octane fuel and consistently get 23-24 mpg in city and highway. The seats are not as comfy as my old Ford Ranger when it comes to long trips (3+ hrs) but they are fine for normal travel. It handles like a nice car. We really love everything about this car and have no major complaints. We would recommend considering one to anyone who asks. We did wish it was a little cheaper at the time of purchase, but we figured we will get what we pay for. Our Highlander is a keeper.

Excellent family SUV. Plenty of leg room and storage. Great for the occasional towing of a couple of waverunners. We have enjoyed the ride and comfort this vehicle offers. Highly recommend.
