This Year's Model Updates:

For 2007, Toyota has discontinued the sporty Corolla XRS trim level. For the LE trim, leather seating is no longer available.

Pros:
  • Roomy interior, fuel-efficient engine, illustrious reliability record.
Cons:
  • Awkward driver-seat position, bland on-road personality, lack of model variation and upscale convenience features, gets pricey even when equipped with just the basics.

  • Meets Expectations - 2007 Toyota Corolla

Today, I have owned my new 07 Corolla LE exactly 3 months. I have over 11K miles on it, 80/20 highway/city at around 73-75 mph, highway. I drive with a light touch and I am getting 34.9 mpg. I anticipated closer to 38. We got this car for economy and reliability. I think the mpg will improve as the car wears in. Handling is ok, acceleration is ok and road noise is ok. ItÂ’s an econo-box, not a sports car. We are happy with the car, it has met our expectations. I like the traditional body style.

  • What A Great Little Car - 2007 Toyota Corolla

Being retired, we tried getting along with one car for a year but, living in a rural area, it just didnt work. After much research, we decided on the Corolla CE as best suited for our second car needs. Now after 9 months of of trouble free ownership, its rapidly taking primary car status away from our 05 Pacifica. The little car is pleasing to drive and feels bigger than it is. Our fuel mileage is consistenly higher than that posted on the window sticker.

  • Great Value! Reliable! - 2007 Toyota Corolla

I have had this car for 9 months and it is great on gas! I have not had any problems with it at all (and it is brand new so I would hope not) and it is easy to get around in! For the price it is a great value and quality is excellent.

  • I think about selling it - 2007 Toyota Corolla

This is my second car - I bought a new one in Nov 2006 (my first car was an old Mitsubishi Galant, which I drove from 60K to 100K miles). Actual mileage (city + some freeway) = 25 mpg. The battery went dead at 6K miles, after I didnt drive for 2 weeks. The car has a good ground clearance, but when I drive on a windy freeway, it feels like the car is going to be blown away. Not enough power entering a short or ascending freeway on-ramp.

  • My first and last Toyota - 2007 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car recently with 35,000 miles. I cant say much about the reliability yet, however, this car has a really rough ride as compared to my Nissan Sentra and Honda Civic. The rough ride was unbearable so I spent $590 on Michelin Defender tires which have improved the ride, but it still rides rougher than the other two cars I mentioned. The handling on turns is also poor and there is a rattle in the back ceiling that has been reduced with the new tires, but the car still tends to vibrate and bounce. Also the driver door locks to not work. It also has a very high idle and I dont believe I am getting as good of gas mileage as my other two cars. I am considering reselling.

  • good car but - 2007 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car three years ago and it was a demo with 1,200. I traded in a 1998 Camry which was a great car. After driving this for one day I was realized what a mistake I had made, the road noise was atrocious. It gets great gas mileage, as high as 40 mpg on a road trip, 32 as an average, but the headlights are terrible at night on regular beam, in fact it is downright dangerous. I am in process of trading the corolla in on a Hyundai sonata, 2011. I have bought toyotas for years but since about 2007 and after, you read more bad than you do good about toyotas.

  • Extremely Poor Seating Comfort - 2007 Toyota Corolla

I bought a brand new 2007 model in Nov 2006 paying a high premium. In a year, I have come across these problems: (1) One day, the computer broke (went out of order) by itself and the car totally stopped. I had to get it towed to the dealer who fixed the necessary hardware & codes taking 3-4 days. But if this would have happened during one of my journeys to Canada, what would have been my fate? (2) The driver and front passenger seats are horribly uncomfortable. We feel as if we are sitting on a wooden bench without any cushion. In a drive of 30 minutes, you would like to get off the seat because of the pain it gives. Also, arm-rests are not provided. I am not at all happy with Toyota.

  • Disappointed - 2007 Toyota Corolla

Picked up this car 5/2007 and now have 1200 miles on it. Vehicle came equipped with Goodyear Integrity P185/16 which have an air loss problem. Letters to Toyota USA & Goodyear unsuccessful & forget the dealer bad news with them. Even though Toyota chose to put these tires on their car they blame Goodyear & Goodyear is unresponsive. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety website there are 25 complaints filed on these tires so something is wrong. Overall for this car Toyota has failed with it the interior is sloppy & the vehicle handles like it is 4 yrs old not 4 months old. Also once I tilt the wheel I cannot see the speedometer

  • Great Vehicle for the price - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This is a great dependable vehicle with good gas MPGs. Of all 4 years that I have owned this vehicle I have never experienced any major issues with the car. The only problem that I had with it was taking it back to the dealership to fix the molding on the roof of the car that had become unbent.

  • MPG - 2007 Toyota Corolla

I just have to make a quick remark about MPG. I see that Edmunds put it at 29 MPG, my experience is 32 in city and 36 on Highway and this at 80+.
