After driving Ford explorers for over 10 years, I purchased the 4runner 3 months ago. Likes: -dealer experience -build quality (except doors tinny when shut hard) -big buttons -gas mileage really 17 city/ 23 freeway -practical, not luxurious -rides well on rough dirt roads, as well as smooth pavement -quiet cabin -quiet engine (like a sewing machine) -satellite radio, usb port, -not a minivan -power rear window (excellent ventilation when combined with sunroof) -rear seats fold down flat dislikes: -way too high off the ground and no running boards -orange dials very difficult to read in bright sunlight -too much hard plastic -needs optional cargo cover

  • Not that sure yet..... - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

Got the Trail model in mid January, actually came down to the 4Runner vs a Lexus RX...not your typical comparison. After trading in a 2002 Pathfinder, i figured i would stay with the "truck look". However, although the body look and style is really nice. Its a bit bigger than i thought, (or would have liked). At about 3000 miles now, I cannot even reach 17 mpg, doing about 50% highway,, thought it would be better. The BIGGER concern is today, after braking coming up to a red light, i had a sudden surge of acceleration. This was not imagined, it was VERY REAL. While i was braking, the car had a sudden surge of power. It did stop right away after that so i am going to contact Toyota.

Have had the SR5 for two days. Love it! Fabulous ride. Put 300 miles on it. I got the black exterior with black interior cloth seats and its gorgeous. Excellent visibility-great windows with minimal obstruction. Very happy with noise control.

  • Great purchase, awesome vehicle. - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

This is my first 4Runner, and I am very pleased so far. The ride is smooth, quiet, and theres plenty of interior room for my wife and our little one. The exterior looks sharp, and the interior is roomy and comfortable. Ive only had it a day, mind you, but its really fun to drive. Theres tons of cool features that I have to figure out with the NAV/Radio system. the keyless ignition system will take some getting used to, but its really cool. Im liking the all time 4WD, and once you lock in the 4H, it feels especially solid. You can tell its very well built, and we feel very safe and secure driving this machine. Looking forward to many years in this bad boy...

  • Great SUV - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

I traded my 08Pathfinder for this 4Runner. I purchased it back in January, and waited until almost 10000 miles before i gave a review. I personally like the exterior, and interior look. Engine is not as powerful as my 08 pathfinder, but I am getting 23 mpg on highway. you have to press the gas pedal hard to get a great acceleration when passing. The truck feels very comfortable, the ride is very smooth, and i enjoy driving it everyday. At first it was hard to get in the truck without running board, but I already got used to it.

This is my third 4 Runner 2001-2006-2010 It is by far the best. It is loaded with great features. the ride is excellent along with the handling. the interior/exterior is professionally done with superior workmanship, with attention to detail. Congratulations Toyota for producing such a great product. A job well done.

  • Are we driving same vehicle - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

Read all of the reviews and I question if we are driving the same vehicle. Am very happy with the performance. Did not buy a sports car but an SUV. The interior finish is great. All fits well, and the ergonomics are excellent. Have a hard time being comfortable in certain cars, but am very comfortable in this one. Outside finish is flawless. I like the design, but hey, some dont guess we wont all be riding 4 runners. Will comment of fuel economy at a later date, but am happy to this point. Hood does not rattle at high speeds, doors are not flimsy, horn sounds ok it alerts people what more do you want. My wife had not seen the vehicle before purchase, her reaction was "awesome."

  • Best vehicle I ever owned - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

In my lifetime Ive owned over 13 vehicles (from Mercury, Ford, GM to VW, Honda, and Subaru), and this is by far the best vehicle Ive ever owned. We just hit the 8k mile mark and I enjoy being behind the wheel at all times. Highway driving is fun and off- roading/driving in snow is awesome as well. Theres plenty of space for the family (two kids) and ample cargo space for vacations.

  • 2nd 4Runner - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

I sold my 96 4Runner for a 05 Sequoia and returning to the 4Runner. My gas mileage is averaging 4mpg higher than my Sequoia with comparable power. The vehicle is spacious without feeling enormous. The fit and finish inside and out is great. I wasnt crazy about the cartoonish dash and dials but they are growing on me.

  • Worst Seats - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

I had 2008 Limited V8,4WD sold and bought 2010 Trail with all the options. First, the seats are like bench seats of churches, so hard. Only a few minutes ride, even my friends complained how hard and uncomfortable they were. I bought many cushions to relieve the hardness, but no solutions. I tried to voice out this problem both to dealership and Toyota HQ. After 3 months, customer service of Toyota wrote to me that could not do anything and sorry for dissatisfaction in advance. No wonder Toyota is losing faithful customers like us. We bought 5 Toyotas including Lexus LX470, all new. I will not buy another Toyota ever again. The new V6 is no match for previous V8, with no MPG advantage.
