This Year's Model Updates:

In an effort to get buyers under 30 into its dealerships, Toyota launches an all-new division called Scion. The brand will eventually grow to three models, but for now two are offered; one of these is a small but well-equipped five-door hatchback called the xA. Scion will use a no-haggle sales strategy and give buyers ample opportunity to customize their xAs, drawing upon a list of over three dozen dealer-installed options.

Pros:
Cons:
  • The cool stuff costs extra, modest passing power with automatic transmission, no cruise control.

  • one down, another on the way - 2004 Scion xA

just totalled mine on hwy 5. driving the speed limit, averted another drivers sudden brake slam, lost control and eventually flipped. pulled myself and my 90 lb dog through the passenger window. hes fine. i walked away with only a bruise on my knee. airbags didnt deploy but the car crushed around us like a cocoon, upside down. not even considering another car. soon as i can, its right back to the scion dealer. though i really do wish the car had u.s crash ratings/tests available...

I love my xA, its got a lot of room for the size and it gets 35 mpg. You cant beat that! I love my color, indigo ink pearl, awesome car, awesome buying experience.

  • Great for the Money - 2004 Scion xA

Well I bought an Xa today and its seems to be a tight little package. Try comparing it to Kia Sephia. lol. A great value. Whole car seems well rounded and hella space with the seats down. My only complaint, if I had one, is 108hp, but Im behond 0-60 at this point and this makes it there fast enough. :)For $12995 you cant beat the stuff this little car has on it. My favorite thing about this car is the fit and finish. Seems like a much more expensive car. And to top it off its a Toyata. Ill be lookin for a new car in 2015. :)

  • fun to drive in city - 2004 Scion xA

It is realy fun to drive in the city. You feel comfort in it. First time I took my X-A from Orange County to Ventura county ( Simi Valley ) about 70 Miles one way I found ride on freeways it is not as comfotable as in city you feel even small bumps or uneven roads on the freeways. Also suddenly brake at the speed of abve 60 mph can shfit the car left or right hand. Must be carefull. Have fun and ejoy it.

  • Good, but not Great Value - 2004 Scion xA

The Scion xA is a great commuter car, stick with the stock wheels. I got the 17 inch wheels and regret it every time I go over a bump or rough road.

  • Im Glad I chose this car, BUT.......... - 2004 Scion xA

I loved the no haggle pricing. And, because its a Toyota, its gonna last. It is also stylish, and looks like more expensive than it actually is. The car is fun to drive in the city, and is fine on the freeway. Yes, its a bit noisy at 75 mph, and passing takes a little extra time with the auto, but remember, its a sub-compact, under 14k. I bought this car because, I am single, live in the city, and have a short commute. It seats 4 people fine, but usually, I keep the rear seats down to add to the total cargo capacity. Great gas mileage of course. Everyone other person has a Corolla, and I chose a Scion XA instead.

GOOD CAR,AND IS FUN TO DRIVE.

  • Great Affordable Car - 2004 Scion xA

I bought this car because I needed something I could drive and not pay a fortune for gas. I have two kids and its been a great car. My son is now 5 and starting to outgrow the backseat. You definitely dont have enough leg room for a tall person driving and a person in the back seat. Other than that I have had no problems at all with it.

  • Wonderful Little Commuter Car - 2004 Scion xA

My second day of driving the car, and I can conclude that (+) 1) Its amazingly quiet 2) Has a great audio system 3) Has comfortable, distinctive seating 4) Great white- faced display with amber lighting on the other components. 5) Unique design (-) 1)Horsepower - 108 is fine, but more is always better and appreciated. 2)Space - Im 59 and have the seat pretty far back, I would only put a child behind me for long distances, an adult could fit ok but only for a while.. Trunk space is small, but has some space under for small items. There are no pockets behind the front seats, and map pockets are small. 3) Cruise control!
