This Year's Model Updates:

The Nissan Maxima is completely redesigned for 2009, with an added focus on performance and luxury.

Pros:
  • Delicately precise steering, strong powertrain, high-quality interior craftsmanship, tons of high-tech features, best iPod integration presently available.
Cons:
  • Luxury and Sport models lack the brand cachet their price tags imply, mostly useless middle rear seat with Sport or Premium Packages, equipment stuffed into expensive packages.

  • Great inside, fair to drive - 2009 Nissan Maxima

If you are looking for something that drives like a BMW 3 or 5 series, look elsewhere. If you want a comfortable vehicle with nice appointments inside (especially for the price) then you found your car. This car has terrible torque steer, is overpowered from the starting line and has way to much body roll to be considered a sports car. Smooth on the highway yes. Maneuverable? No.

  • 45K+ miles and loving it... - 2009 Nissan Maxima

2009 Maxima SV, (45,211 Miles) and by far the best car I have owned. I have had it for 16 months now. Handling is great and amazing great looks, love the body lines and hood. I have driven this car twice from the San Francisco to Washington D.C. and have enjoyed every minute driving it across the country without any problems. I have the technology package and love all the features that are available on it. stereo & interior comforts are excellent.

  • I Am Extremely Satisfied - 2009 Nissan Maxima

This car is a beast! Love the power and the prowess. I love how she moves when I tell her to. My previous just thought about it. Guess you really cannot compare a Dodge Nitro and a Nissan Maxima but I must say, I LOVE THIS CAR. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury car without the luxury price.

  • are you kidding me? - 2009 Nissan Maxima

This car is awesome. I have had this car for exactly one day. I dont need more to write this review. I know something about cars; have owned and driven mercedes, audi, bmw, infinity, and most of the rest. They do not touch this car. It is beautiful, inside and out (subjective of course). Feels like a tank but drives like (or better than) the 330 I traded up from for about 1/2 the price. All the bells and whistles. Looks and feels great. I dont even care if gas mileage is not great. Please dont buy this car. I want exclusivity on the roads.

  • This car is impressive - 2009 Nissan Maxima

I am very impressed with the clean look of this car, especially the shape of the hood and the side. The color of my car is white and this color also improved the lines of the car even in the snow. The car has excellent traction in the snow because of the very good traction control and the Toyo winter tires. The handling both on highway or back roads is very precise and solid. The acceleration is amazing for a front wheel drive. I can not see anyone that enjoy driving sport car be disappointed with the 2009 Maxima. I highly recommend it to anyone that just like me, wants a classy look with the serious performance of a sport car. Bravo Nissan superb package.

  • Worth the Money! - 2009 Nissan Maxima

I traded in my 04 Maxima SL for an premium SV with Tech. The only two things I hated about my 04 was the turning radius and heated seats. The 09 has been greatly improved. I compared this vehicle to a VW CC and Acura TL. The features, looks, and price blew the other two away. Fantastic interior and a quiet ride. The voice activation works great. I never have to repeat myself. Took a while to figure out that I cant hop on the gas and expect to get great gas mileage. Average 22 around the city. Havent taken it on a long trip yet, but hopeful it will meet the 26 mpg it boasts for highway mileage. I had no problems with my 04 after 115000 miles and I am hoping for the same with this

  • sooooo happy - 2009 Nissan Maxima

This is probably the best car i have owned. My last car was a Caddy CTS and this car blows it away. on performance and pickup it is wonderful. My only complaint is the seat heaters never seem to get hot enough.

  • Excellent Value - 2009 Nissan Maxima

Touarareg, Explorer, Cadillac owner. Retired Cadillac and got Maxima 3 days ago. Feel like Im driving Bat-mobile. Acceleration is outstanding. Fun to drive. Practical for NE with FWD. Turns heads. LOVE this vehicle. SE package with leather interior is outstanding. Gadgets galore. Strong price, value ratio. Dealers willing to deal - providing price comparisons. Could not be happier! Outstanding value with high happiness index. You wont be disappointed -- strongly consider one!!!

  • No bang for the buck - 2009 Nissan Maxima
    By -

I had very high expectations for the new Maxima that were not met. The ride is much too rough and the back seat room is absolutely terrible. I jumped the gun way too quick on this one. A little bit too sporty. It may as well have been a coupe. Im not knocking Nissan but I am knocking the Maxima. If I could make one recommendation to anyone, lease dont purchase.

  • WOW! - 2009 Nissan Maxima

Nissan really stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. This car is awesome! Why buy a fifty grand euro car when you get more for your buck with this beauty. I almost bought a M35X. The Maxima was good enough for me to reconsider the extra 12 grand I would have spent.
