  • Excellent car, minor glitches - 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

My first MB. Problems: 1. Central air duct broken at delivery - replaced at no cost (warranty). 2. Key receptor dead at 8000 miles - replaced at no cost (warranty). Note: Service arrived on the spot in < 10 minutes! Handled the case superbly. Overall: Rides wonderfully. Seats are great (lateral support + comfort). Steering feel excellent. Brakes very good. Stereo (BUT: NO CASSETTE NEEDED, THANKS!) Very quiet, yet engaging.

this is a great car eventhough it is a little expensive for a hatchback but consider it is a mercedes-benz a famous and well known brand. better than other japanese manufactures.

  • Could be a better car - 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I really enjoy the ride and drive of my C240. I enjoy the looks and the feel of it. I have pride to own a car successful people own. I do not enjoy constantly going to the shop for very expensive repairs (three different ones in the past two months not counting others). This is not a reliable car. I keep thinking nothing else can go wrong. So many things are going wrong. I dont trust Mercedes anymore. Many times they have to always order parts from Germany. What an inconvenience!

  • Highly Disappointed - 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a reliable automobile. This car has lost more interior pieces than I have been able to keep up with. The electrical components of this car leaves a lot to be desired. I had to replace the alternator at 52,000 miles - the first time in my lifetime as a car owner that I have had to change an alternator this soon. This vehicle has really tarnished my image of the Mercedes Benz brand. When you pay this much for a small sedan, you expect reliability, quality, and decent peace of mind. Wish I would have opted for the Lexus instead.

  • Great Entry Benz!!!! - 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I bought a c230 Kompressor Coupe in may 2008 with only 65,000 for less then 8,000. Great deal on a great car. The car handles, accelerates, and stops flawlessly. I hit a deer going 75 and came out with just a dent.Had i been in a Honda or something of less quality guarantee the car would be totaled and myself injured. I got the car fixed and has been awesome and reliable. Maintenance is high- find a loyal cheap foreign repair shops with ex Mercedes Benz mechanics. worth the savings.

  • Had snow / ice storm only car that could drive - 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

This was a fluke purchase as found for sale and told hubby about it. Against my wishes he bought it. Well guess who is eating crow now? We had a bought of bad weather snow/ice that is not common to area. This 4matic beat my older stick 4wheel drive pick up on performance in bad road conditions. He said it was like a 4 wheel drive... now a believer what a great car.

  • Great Little Car - 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Fun little car. I needed something practical but still a good time and this fit the bill. I have 66,000 on it and no major problems. It handles well, accelerates well, and does well on gas. Halfway between a Porsche 911 and a Honda Civic Hatchback. Great little computer to remind of every maintenance and when you are short on fluids. Automatic wipers and lights. All you have to do is drive, the car does the rest. Sometimes the wipers are fooled by repeating shadows but it is not a huge nuisance.

  • Buy an extended warranty - 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

6 yrs old and 118K. At 52", I am very comfortable in it but my husband at 62" is another matter indeed. At the touch of the pedal shell give you whiplash. Leather is sporty and stands up to daily wear. Im gonna miss her. A superbly fun car to drive but please, please buy an extended warranty with this car. At 90K it started breaking down. Let me count the dollars. 1. rear main seal $1800 2. outside temp sensor (did not fix - $500) 3. CD changer $300 4. sunroof shade $99 part $700 labor 5. sunroof gears stripped $1800 6. catalytic converter $1300 part _$600 labor I loved this little car until it started reaching into my wallet for more than routine maintenance.

  • Heck of a Mercedes - 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I have had 2 BMWs in the past, and I find that the MB is more comfortable and rides nicer. It will not handle as well as a BMW, but you get comfort and style in place of handling in hard corners. I enjoy this car greatly and love the way people look at me while I drive.

  • Buy Lexus - 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Im sorry but this car is junk. Replaced cluster module, rear stan, and engine. CD player now doesnt work, light over license plate has been replaced twice. Too many electrical problems for a vehicle that was purchased brand new. Quality is gone and Ill never purchase a Mercedes Benz again. My next vehicle will be a Lexus. Ive had a lexus in the past with no problems at all.
