This Year's Model Updates:

The LS' already handsome appearance can be further enhanced with the LSE appearance package that includes 17-inch two-tone Blade Grey wheels, a unique front fascia, round foglights, modified Blade Grey grille with color-keyed upper trim piece, side rocker panels and rear valance, low profile spoiler, dual stainless-steel exhaust tips and LSE floor mats. Lincoln makes an in-dash CD changer standard for 2002 (with Alpine Audiophile components on Sport models) and restyles the 16-inch alloy wheels on non-Sport V6 and V8 versions. A Vehicle Communication System, which provides a voice-activated Motorola Timeport mobile phone, is optional and includes safety and security services, route guidance and access to weather reports, stock quotes and sports scores. Three new colors replace three old ones.

Pros:
  • Confident steering and handling, choice of either a V6 or V8 engine, comfortable and roomy interior, clean exterior design.
Cons:

  • Love My Early Build 10/99 LS! - 2002 Lincoln LS

I purchased my 2000 LS in October 1999. It was an early build model built in July 1999. I have 68,000 miles on it and it has been the most trouble-free car I have owned. Power is adequate, roominess is larger than a BMW 5-series, and the handling is phenomenal! For a car this size it handles like a much smaller German sports sedan. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a luxury sports sedan.

This is the most fun car to drive I have ever owned. I find myself taking 80 mile trips just to get some milk. I have owned BMW in the past and will not go back to the overpriced German car. Great Car

i was a little worried at first because of all electrical components but after a short time the car seems to be well built. i am however concerned with the talk about the transmission being less than excellent.

We really enjoy this car. It has everything we wanted. It handles well in corners and cruises down the open road at ease. Its real easy to be going 80MPH before you relize it. The stereo is outstanding, except for the over powering sub-woofers in the rear. The www.llsoc.com website (Lincoln LS owners club) was very helpful and continues to be, with all the little quirks that happen from time to time. Would I buy another LS again...I dont think so, a BMW will be next for me.

This car gives you the best bang for the buck. For the Price you cant beat it. Size of a BMW 7, Performance of a BMW 5, at a price of a BMW 3.

  • Poor Mans BMW - 2002 Lincoln LS

We were looking for a performance car with 4 doors and a V-8 to replace our aging Grand Marquis. We settled on the LS after our first test drive. The LS delivers when it comes to power and acceleration and gets decent gas mileage on the highway (24 MPG) and has all the creature comforts you would expect to find on a luxury sport sedan. I would compare it to a BMW 7 series in styling and performance for about half the price. There have been no problems since we had it and the bumper to bumper warranty with free maintenance has made the LS a worry free purchase. The 6 speed transmission shifts flawlessly under full power and the sound from under the hood tells you that this car is a beast!
