  • Best mid-size SUV on the market today - 2011 Kia Sorento
    By -

I bought my 2011 Sorento SX AWD new and it has been an absolute pleasure to drive. It is the best new car Ive ever owned in my 50+ years on this planet. It was heavily researched before purchasing and there were very, very few negative reviews. Anything that did come up was related to some early transmission problems on the 4 cylinder models. The 2011 Sorento has been a joy to drive and I expect to drive it well past the 10 year/100,00 mile warranty. KIA knocked it out of the park with the Sorento.

  • Great Vehicle! - 2011 Kia Sorento

We bought our Sorento on Memorial Day and decided on it because we learned it is now built in the U.S. by American workers. I researched price, performance, interior & exterior quality and visited dealers of different makes and models for 3 weeks. THIS is the vehicle we returned to. It has much more accessories for your dollar than the Escape, Rav4, Equinox or Tuscon. With the 5 year bumper to bumper warranty, we couldnt say no. The interior is quality material and the outside looks great. The ride is great as well. I highly recommend this crossover/suv. KIA looks like they are going to be around for a very long time. Nice going KIA.

For $2K more than I paid for my RAV4 4 years ago, I got a lot more. Leather, GPS w/bluetooth/voice activated, rear camera w/backup warning, chrome 18" wheels, more room in 3rd row seat and easier to get in/out, 6 speed auto, FOB keyless, etc. Paid $30K (w/o tax, lic). RAV4 drives stiffer. It will also blow the doors off the KIA with its 269 HP 5 spd auto! Kias mpg has gotten better. Was 16.5, now 18-19 city. Hwy can get 23 mpg. Now, all the complaints other reviewers had, I havent experienced. Hope I dont. But, the tranny on the RAV4 (64K miles) leaked oil. Dealer said $1800 minimum to fix. Shaft to transaxle had 3 cracks on it! Out of warranty. Toyota did a good-will on it. Cost me $165.

  • I am pretty much blown away. - 2011 Kia Sorento

My wife has a tiny convertible, so I need to drive the "hauler" and while my V6 Escape had been trouble free, it had over 100,000 miles. I decided I wanted to look for better mileage, a little more cargo room, but still a compact truckette. Drove them all, liked the Forester best. Then I saw a blurb on History Channels "Modern Marvels" about how the Sorento is made at the new factory in Georgia. Drove it, bought it, love it. The construction and finish quality from the billion dollars worth of robots is amazing, and the thought that went into the design is very impressive, I think. Note: you have to rate "reliability" on this site. I have 2000 miles, what do I know? Great warranty!

  • Great Vehicle - 2011 Kia Sorento

I moved up to a Sorento from a mustang. This car is almost as much fun to drive. It is well equipped, stylish and it handles great. If you are looking for a new vehicle you have to test drive the new Sorento. I was not sure I wanted an SUV. I started looking at the Honda Accord but after test driving both i felt more comfortable in the Sorento and love it more each time I drive it.

  • It cant get better than this - 2011 Kia Sorento
    By -

Ive had my new Sorento only 3 days and less than 200 miles, yet the car is built like a champ. It doesnt have AWD but with the front wheel drive and all of the safety systems I do not believe I will need the upgrade for New Yorks Hudson Valley. The safety and tech features are either unmatched or very rarely matched for the selling price. AND you dont have to pay extra for the longer warranty and road side assistance. The 4 cylinder engine/6 spd transmission is plenty of power for this car in city, country & highway driving (thankfully I wasnt stopped).

  • Very poor gas mileage - 2011 Kia Sorento
    By -

45,XXX update. Sold a Jett TDI to buy this car and loved it until recently when I realized the gas mileage would never climb above 23.5 MPG. For many of you it might be acceptable but thats the good part, when the MN weather comes calling, I cant get above 20 MPG. So maybe you think I stand on the gas peddal, not a chance...were talking easy 65 mph on the highway and some county roads with a little bit of town driving. With my wife driving it around a small town all week, I pull 18 MPG. I really want to love this car but the gas mileage is terrible. My 2012 VW passat at 10K miles is pulling and easy 33-34 MPG. Sorry Kia, youve lost a customer who really wanted to stay with youl.

  • Awesome car - 2011 Kia Sorento

Well, where can i start, i got this car before the summer, i just LOVE IT. i got the EX v6 AWD with navi, i did not get the chrome rims though, (got them separately so now i have 2 pairs, chrome = summer regular ones for winter. this car handles greatly, but compared to my other kia (sorento 2005 which was a pain in the a** after 3 years) but this car is more powerful but the engine roar is less loud which is what i liked in the other sorento. The gps is *good* could have a few improvements. i suggest this car to anyone as so far its been very reliable.

  • Not a bad pick - 2011 Kia Sorento

Definitely the nicest vehicle i have ever owned. Very comfortable, attractive design, and smooth ride. Only problem ive had was 3 days after i purchased it i was on my way to go skiing and just about every light you could think of started to show up on the dash board. Then every time i hit the break pedal the sorrent started to shake violently. When i stoped the vehicle i could not put it into park. I had to have road side assistance towe me back to the dealership. 3 days later the dealership called me and told me that there was a piece of plastic stuck in between the fuse and the connecter that powered the alternator. To me that was a sketchy explanation and a poor experience.

  • Everything as promised. - 2011 Kia Sorento

Ive had mine for 9 months and no problems what so ever. Taken it on a couple of 1200 mile road trips. It is as it is promised to be. The exception is the gas milage. Even babying wasnt able to get what was advertised. Other than that a great vehicle.
