This Year's Model Updates:

The Jeep Liberty's Renegade trim has been discontinued for 2007. Also, the 2.8-liter diesel engine is no longer available.

Pros:
  • Extremely capable off-road, high tow capacity.
Cons:
  • V6 is rather thirsty at the pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

Ive had a 2005 Rocky Mountain Edition and traded it in for my 2007. I love it. The seats are more comfortable than 2005 and got all the options. Actually have better gas mileage this time around.

The Jeep has been a great vehicle. Its easy to drive, easy to park, easy to see out of, and easy to get in and out of. Plenty of storage and travels well. If you want a plush ride, might not be for you, as its a real jeep. Not a disguised mini van. Its been rock solid except for the window issues. Trail rated perhaps should be turned to Tear rated. I love my Jeep, but I am really getting tired of having the windows repaired. It goes in tuesday for window repair #5. After owning a Wrangler, two Cherokees and this, this Liberty will likely be my last Jeep as the window issues are souring the whole experience. Would give 9s on build and reliability if not for the windows.

  • Dont buy major defects in Windows - 2007 Jeep Liberty

I purchased this car new. Since February 2007 the window regulators (parts that Hold up the windows) have been repaired 5 times. Many people have this problem with Jeeps--years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and waiting to see if 2008 does too. Contacted Chrysler and they told me they had no info about a permanent fix. Not helpful at all. The car is a lemon! Also stain resistant seats are not stain resistant. Many owners spill water on seat (like me) and water leaves a brown stain on the stain resistant seats. What a joke.

Initially, I had some doubts about an SUV, but the Jeep Liberty has convinced me otherwise. It is a very solid, reliable vehicle. Great in the snow. Nice seating position. Nice feature content. Needs a bit more refinement of materials and ergonomics on the inside. Hidden compartment in trunk area would be nice addition.

  • after a long line a jeeps, finally one. - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Generally, I love my jeep. Its my 3rd, having had a 1991 Cherokee and a 1995 Grand Cherokee. I was initially sold only because of the warranty and features (the previous 2 had a lot of problems). Now, Im really happy with it. It rides well off roads, is amazing in snow and mud, and drives reasonably on the road. Its been reliable, even compared to more "reliable" cars a few of my friends purchased at about the same time. The gas mileage seems to be about the same as my 5.2L V8 Grand Cherokee while being a good bit smaller. Also, the ground clearance is limited compared to my previous jeeps. which are my only complaints. Some complain about window controls, but Ive had BMWs-same place :)

  • The good and the bad - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Bought in 2007 because we wanted a larger vehicle. Needed something to drive in the winter in case I got rid of my wrangler with 200,000 miles on it, and a rebuilt motor. Think we bought it because of four wheel drive and it looked nice. Gas mileage is decent. You will get pissed because it is not very comfortable (didnt expect my wrangler to be) this is because the seats are cheaply designed, and will stain if a rain drop comes through the window or youre drinking a bottled water. Good luck if you have kids. Until I wrote this review I didnt know that the power Windows were a problem. I had the back regulator replaced on the drivers side. This window was hardly ever used. Air con drain tube leak at shop now.

I bought my Jeep in Jan 07, and wanted to drive it for awhile before reviewing it. So far I am very happy with it. I live in the snow belt and drive a lot for work, it handled the snow with no problems. I always felt like it was holding the road and it went through anything I asked it to.I have no idea why the window controls are in the middle, and wish the cup holders & shifter were reversed but not a big deal. I looked @ Toyota, Honda, & Chevy but think I made the best choice for the money. My husband bought a Ranger but now wants my Jeep, we race for the keys. Over all I cant find anything I really dont like, & my next one will be the new model with the huge sunroof. Great little SUV.

  • windows? what windows? - 2007 Jeep Liberty

Bought the thing in August of 07. Windows have fallen down in the door 16 times! Yes 16 times! The dealership always fixed them for free. Then they claimed they have a new improved part. Windows kept falling. The last time it happened I got charged for it. I was told Chrysler had changed their policy. Hmm so I get penalized for their poor product. Sounds fair. I dont even roll the windows down. Yet they fall any way.

  • Fix The Window Regulator Problems! - 2007 Jeep Liberty

If you want a Jeep, buy a Jeep, but be prepared for about 14 - 16 mpg, and a company that wont toss you a dime for the window regulators that CONSTANTLY go out. Ive had my Jeep for 6 months, in that time, 2 of the regulators have gone out. Its a $500 repair that Jeep wont cover that happens to every Jeep.

I bought my liberty used with 36,000 miles on it last January. It now has 46,000. All my Windows have broken, when the back left door window broke it fell down inside my door & shattered ( this happened going down the road in the winter ) I have all of my Windows ratchet strapped up with the door panels off because its the only way to keep them from breaking because every time they are replaced. They break again. I though I would love this SUV but it has been a nightmare, I would not recommend a Jeep to anyone. Its a p. O. S. To put it nicely :) I will never buy or own another Jeep once Im able to trade this one in.
