Ilike the car very much but because of past models I am very cautious in making a Final judgment.

The only reason I did not give the interior design a 10 rating is because, at 61", I have tended toward larger cars. That said, a recent 1200 mile journey to Death Valley & return was our maiden trip to put the "darling little car" (my wifes description) through a gentle test run. We tent-camped in Furnace Creek, hauling all we needed in the cargo area; freeway driving was a fun run for a change with the sport-feel of the road; country curves & desert "thank-you-mums" were even more pleasurable with the X-Types road- hugging & shorter wheelbase handling. Our 25 mpg average on this trip was most welcome in light of the $3+ pump prices; a fair exchange for a downsized wagon.

The Jaguar x-type vdp edition is my 3rd vehicle that Ive owned and by far the most fun and luxurious vehicle. I get so many compliments on it, and people think that Ive paid a fortune. Luckily, I got a great deal for an awesome product. Ive heard some negative things about Jaguar and so far I have not experienced any of them and Ive had the car for almost 6 months. I dont know how anyone can see this car doesnt compare to the BMW 3 series or Mercedes C Class. This car definitely has a lot going for it plus more. I dont regret this purchase at all.

  • Excellent All Around - 2005 Jaguar X-Type

I recently drove my X Type home in a snow storm. The only cars on the road that were not having trouble were the SUVs and me. The X-Type is under rated!! Ford has done an excellent job of working out the problems without taking the British styling out. It is an excellent value, excellent performance, extremely comfortable, head turning styling. My only complaint is that the in-city fuel economy is awful, 17/18 mpg on premium. The car does however love to run down the turnpike at 80 mph with 25 mpg. If you are wondering if you should get one for yourself, stop wondering and go for it.

  • My 2nd X type - 2005 Jaguar X-Type

This is my 2nd x-type. My other one is a 2002 Platinum sport... love it! Only a few simple problems such a a malfunctioning trunk lock and some recall service... all covered under warranty plus the dealer provided a free Jaguar rental car. My new car is just a beautiful and I am leasing for a similar price to my 2002 model! Glad I did not have to downsize! The best feature is the AWD! I live in WI and we get bad snow and ice... this cars wheels NEVER spin! Grips the road! Love it!

  • Amazing - get a 2005 or newer! - 2005 Jaguar X-Type
    By -

Love the car, I researched the car before purchase, saw that 2001-03 had some problems, Jaguars Quality Initiative 04 put over 1000 new components in this car. My 2005 is awesome. Great driving experience, curves and hills are my favorite, AWD will be a blessing this winter. Luxury interior leaves you feeling like and people thinking that you paid a fortune for this car.

  • My second Jag - 2005 Jaguar X-Type

My first JAG was an XJ8, I really wanted an S-Model, however I did not like the grill. I also think the interior of the X-type is just as nice as the S-type, except for the steering wheel, which I have ordered the wood grain finished one from the dealer. The only thing that I dont like is that the rear seating leg area is too short. Overall the car is as sweet as they get.

  • Jaaaaaag Wagon - 2005 Jaguar X-Type

I have driven mostly BMWs for the past 20 years. I purchased this 05 Jaguar Sportwagon in July 07 and I am delighted with the design, build quality, aesthetics, and driving dynamics. It can not be compared to BMW, MB, Audi, etc., as it is British, not German. The wagon is elegant inside and out, it is comfortable for a guy with back problems. I have only seen one other Jag Wagon in the state of Maine---I do not see myself coming and going.

  • 2005 Jag wagon - 2005 Jaguar X-Type

I am one of the first lucky people to own this awesome car. Its fun, fast and luxurious. Also, its great in the snow with all wheel drive. The only negative is not enough leg room in the backseat. Other than that after owning 2 BMW wagons this is a very nice change.

  • Great Value - 2005 Jaguar X-Type
    By -

This car has not only been fun to drive but a great value as well. The trunk is huge. However the back seat is very tight with limited legroom and headroom for passengers and somewhat difficult to enter/exit.
