Hyundai has attempted to do what honda and toyota have done for years with the RAV4 and CR-v: which is sell great "crossovers" to an ever growing market. weve had our Tucson for over a year and are still enamoured with it. The only reason we would get rid of it is to move up to the Santa Fe to accomodate our growing family. As other have mentioned, price, standard features, and build and ride quiality are the main reasons to by this car. All Toyota/Honda give you is 20 more HP in the engine at a cost of thousands. We have the 4 cyl. and it is perfect for what we need: mostly city driving. We did take it from home - Toronto- to Cape Cod and with the car packed got 25 mpg.

  • What a piece of Korean junk! - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

Brakes went out under warranty. But by 58000 miles they were out again. ESC and ABS lights and system recall taken care of and four years later same problem so we had to pay over $600 for a new brake light switch and a new G-force sensor. They had to pull the entire dashboard out to get to the G-Force sensor. Over $2000 for fluids change and belts and a bad water pump. Lower control arms went a few years ago ... that was a real treat replacing those myself. Battery went under warranty. Despite wheel balance and alignment the car vibrates under normal driving conditions. Underside would have rusted through had I not been keeping up with the rust. Drive timing rings are ready to crack.

  • Excellent SUV all around - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

Have owned it for 15 months now and it has proven reliable, economic, and comfortable. I get 20 miles in the city and 26 hwy. It responds well to curves, acceleration, driving in the rain and wind, no sways. View out the windows is excellent with one flaw, the driver windshield/dashboard frame width along with wide mirror factor, which you have to move head several times to make sure you are not missing a car or pedestrian! VG heating and cooling, and door compartments and dash cubbies and armrest cubbies prevent clutter well. Nice dash lighting at night. Tiltable steering wheel and ease of locking in. Lights in cargo, passenger, even door side lights. Wonderful suv for the price and warranty

  • Electrcal Nightmare.. - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

Since purchase I have had nothing but minor problems with this vehicle. The dealer acts like any failure is a complete surprise. Currently am experiencing an electrical problem. Battery goes dead after 3 days not running the vehicle. Dealer has replaced the battery with no positive results. Problem still exists. Inquiries about solutions to the problem have fell on dead ears. No response from Jenkins or Hyundai USA. Hyundai acts like the problem doesnt exist.. Be assured that it does and I will not rest until it is resolved.

  • I am satified with my investment - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON

I have driven my Tucson for about 1300 mils now and I am fully satisfied. Fuel economy is a bit low in city but itÂ’s a V6 so I am ok. Every thing is standard so what I feel that its value for money. No need to pay around two or three grands extra for Honda or Toyota.

Very pleased with the car with the exception of gas mileage not as good as we expected. The six cylinder has plenty of power and acceleration for an SUV of this size. Very impressed with interior roominess.

Bought in JAN 07. Love it!! A must see if your in the market for an SUV. Top rating of 2006 for small SUVs and excellent crash rating by Gov. test standards. 2.7 Liter engine may seem small compared to others, but dont be fooled! This baby has a lot of spit fire, but at the same time is economical. No problems getting up to 80-90 mph on highway without engine strain and quickly. City milege is about 20MPG.

  • It is a nice fit - 2006 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

The Tucson is a nice fit for a small family. Has plenty of leg room, head room and storage for everyone. Performance wise I find that it has been somewhat difficult to start and stay running. It just doesnt want to start some days and acts like its flooded. This is the only problem Ive had. Otherwise it has been great.
