This Year's Model Updates:

The Hyundai Tucson is an all-new compact SUV from Hyundai. It rides on the Elantra platform and is intended for buyers who want a smaller package than the midsize Santa Fe.

Pros:
  • Generous warranty, standard ABS and stability control, roomy passenger and cargo space, attractive interior, standard side and head curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Low horsepower rating, some cheap interior materials here and there.

We did a lot of research on small SUV and kept coming back to the Tucson. We ended up pruchasing one because of the Safety, insurance savings and all aorund comfort. I really feel this is the car for the budget minded.

  • Nice little SUV with a BIG warranty - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Nice little SUV with a GREAT warranty. The 4WD doesnt get great gas mileage, bu the thing is sure footed in rain or snow. Dealerships are friendly and service is very pleasant. Its no wonder people are not treating these vehicles lightly, anymore.

After 22 Fords in last 30 yrs - first non-American car. I love it - take it out for no reason. Just love the way it drives!

The Tucson handles well and has a very short turning radius, which comes in handy in parking lots. It also will fit into those compact car spaces. It accelerates very well and gets up to highway speed quickly. I hae the 4 cylinder, smallest available, front wheel drive, 5 speed manual transmission. Im averaging between 26 and 30 mpg, combined highway/city. This will probably be the last new car I buy and this is the 3rd Hyundai that Ive owned and have absolutely no complaints about the product or the service Ive received from the dealership. They will and do go the extra mile.

Decent power; nice, car-like handling. Aside from the Freelander, its the most stylish in its class. Actually has some off-roading ability, too, and the locking front and rear is a big plus AWD is great in the snow. Love all the little things (i.e., fold-flat back seats, storage, dual visors w/mirrors, red lights when you open the doors, dual exhaust, change holder, etc.). Where else can you get stability/traction control, AWD, 6 airbags, 4 disc brakes, ABS, 6-disc in-dash CD w/subwoofer, fog lights, V6 auto w/Shiftronic, plus a long list of other standard features all for about 23,000? I thoroughly researched the market and the Tucson is unbeatable for the value.

  • First Day... - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

We looked at all small SUVs and found the best values at Hyundai, so it was between the Santa Fe and the Tucson. The Tucsons interior sold us and the ride was very smooth and quiet. After we got it, during the long drive home (35 miles) the seats were alil too firm compared to the comfort of the Santa. We love the option of having the front seats fold down and make a long long back seat, very relaxing. We would say its not as powerful however its very adequate for around-the-town travel.

We just bougt the new Tuscon and are amazed what Hyundai is giving away for such a great price. AWD, leaather seats + seat heater & 6 disk changer for under $23K! It looks much sleeker than the Santa Fe (lines are much cleaner) and rear cargo is plenty spacious for us (2 no kids!) Rides excellent & smooth.. we are very happy!

  • Drove Conn to Florida and loved it. - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

My experience with Hyundai started with the 2003 Sonata, a great car. After an accident, I had read about the Tucson and fell in love with it. It has been a great car, no problems. squeaks or rattles in about 6,500 miles, and great in snow. I think hit a home run. The service is great, too, and believe it or not, I enjoy having the oil changed at the dealer, and a free car wash.

  • Gas Mileage is terrible - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I have owned 3 Hyundais and always buy from the same dealership. But the Tucson is the biggest rip off. The gas mileage is terrible. Please beware before buying if you care about gas mileage. It was top on my list and I got stuck with a car that costs an arm and a leg.
